  • Publication number: 20080051941
Abstract: A variable toe angle control system for a vehicle that can be incorporated with a fail-safe mechanism When a fault of the system is detected, at least one of toe-angle actuators is actuated to make toe angles of two wheels agree with each other. When one of the wheels has become fixed in position without regard to a control signal supplied to the corresponding actuator, the actuator for the other wheel is actuated so as to make the toe angles of the two wheels equal to each other. When at least one toe-angle sensor is found faulty, the actuators are both actuated until the actuators reach positions corresponding to stoppers. When information for determining target values of the toe angles of the right and left wheels is found faulty, the actuators are both actuated until the actuators reach positions corresponding to prescribed reference toe positions.

  • Patent number: 6910602
Abstract: A container valve, attached to a gas container, wherein the container valve has a pressure reducing function, and is inside a valve block in the gas container. In the valve block, the container valve comprises a gas filling passage in which a filling valve is installed, a gas lead-out passage in which a lead-out valve is installed, and a pressure regulator arranged at an upstream side of the lead-out valve in the gas lead-out passage. The container valve can safely supply gas under a reduced pressure for use by opening the container valve of a container whose pressure is high and gas can be filled easily into the container. The container valve can be miniaturized and the purging operation for supplying high purity gas can be performed.

  • Patent number: 6276188
Abstract: Abnormality of a yaw rate sensor, including a state in which the neutral point is normal, but the sensitivity is abnormal, is detected with high accuracy, irrespective of the situation of a road surface traveled. A lower one of an output from a dividing device for dividing a vehicle speed detected by the vehicle speed detecting device by a minimum radius of turning of a vehicle and an output from a dividing device for dividing a gravitational acceleration by the vehicle speed detected by the vehicle speed detecting device, is selected in a low-select device. It is determined in an abnormality determining device that the yaw rate sensor is abnormal when a yaw rate detected by the yaw rate sensor exceeds a value selected in the low-select device.

  • Patent number: 5922038
Abstract: In a vehicle behavior control system, a failure of a wheel speed sensor is detected by a wheel speed sensor failure detecting device based on the mutual comparison of wheel speeds detected by wheel speed sensors, respectively. When the failure of the wheel speed sensor is detected, a preselected fail-safe operation is carried out by a fail-safe device. A fail-safe operation prohibiting signal is output only for a predetermined time from the establishment of a state in which the operation of a parking brake is detected by a parking brake operation detecting device and a during-traveling signal is output from a during-traveling signal generated device. When the fail-safe operation prohibiting signal is output, the fail-safe operation by the fail-safe device is prohibited by a fail-safe operation prohibiting device.

  • Patent number: 5873639
Abstract: In an anti-lock brake control system, an actuator is controlled based on at least a slip rate determined in a slip rate calculating device and an output from a low-pass filter for filtering a wheel acceleration determined in a wheel acceleration calculating device, thereby switching-over the braking-pressure reducing, maintaining and increasing modes from one to another. The braking pressure-reduction control provided by an operation control device is terminated in response to the wheel acceleration determined in the wheel acceleration calculating device becoming equal to or larger than a preset value. Thus, it is possible to prevent an excessive pressure reduction during an anti-lock brake control on a road surface having a high coefficient of friction.

  • Patent number: 5803557
Abstract: In an anti-lock brake control system for a vehicle, first presumed vehicle speeds are calculated in first vehicle speed calculating devices for every wheel based on wheel speeds detected by wheel speed detecting sections. A second presumed vehicle speed is calculated in a second vehicle speed calculating device based on the value of a lower one of the first presumed vehicle speeds calculated in the first vehicle speed calculating devices corresponding to the left and right rear wheels. A higher one of the first presumed vehicle speeds calculated in each of the first vehicle speed calculating devices and the second presumed vehicle speed calculated in the second vehicle speed calculating device is selected as a presumed vehicle speed corresponding to the wheel in a high-select device. The operations of actuators are controlled based on results of calculation of slip rates of wheels based on presumed vehicle speeds and wheel speeds for every wheel.

  • Patent number: 5586028
Abstract: A road surface condition-detecting system for a vehicle detects a road surface condition from road noise generated by a vehicle wheel. The road surface condition is determined based on parameter data of frequency components of the road noise, by a neural network. The road noise may be corrected by eliminating therefrom a disturbance, such as audio output and exhaust noise. A present state of the road surface condition may be determined based on at least two consecutive determinations made based on the road noise detected at regular time intervals. Exclusive neural networks may be used for respective road surface condition types. One of a plurality of neural networks provided for respective vehicle speed ranges may be selected according to an actual vehicle speed.

  • Patent number: 4796735
Abstract: The carrying case disclosed is of the attache-case variety. It includes a tray (3) located under the lid (2) of the case. The tray overlies, and closes, the compartment (14) in the body (1) of the case when the lid of case is un-zipped and raised. The tray (3) can be used as a writing tablet (7). The tray (3) includes a flap (8) that is hinge-able relative to the remainder (7) of the tray. The flap (8) can be raised to allow restricted access to the compartment (14). Alternatively, the whole tray (3) can be raised to permit wide-open access to the compartment (14). The lid (2) of the case is provided with a corresponding hinged flap (21). The tray (3) rests on top of the inner frame (5) of the body (1) of the case. The frame encircles the whole compartment, and is rigid enough that the floor of the compartment can be of flexible fabric. A shoulder strap is attached to the frame, and lies around the frame, when not in use.
