    Abstract: A driving support apparatus includes a surrounding sensor capable of detecting a first object which is a moving object present in a predetermined first area including a direct front of the own vehicle and a second object which is a moving object present in a predetermined second area including a front lateral area of the own vehicle; and a control unit configured to execute the autonomous braking control for automatically applying braking force to the own vehicle when a collision condition is satisfied, the collision condition being satisfied when there is a possibility that the own vehicle collides with a moving object. The control unit is configured to, when a target object which is a moving object satisfying the collision condition is the second object, reduce a magnitude of the braking force applied by the autonomous braking control, as compared to when the target object is the first object.

    Abstract: A vehicle control device is provided for activating a safety device to inhibit occurrence of a collision with a moving object around an own vehicle, when the own vehicle transitions from traveling straight in a lane in which the vehicle is traveling to making a turn. An area setting unit is configured to, based on at least one of an own vehicle speed and a moving object speed, set a potential collision area, provided that the moving object continues to move in its moving direction and the own vehicle is making a right/left turn. An acquisition unit is configured to acquire a position of the moving object relative to the own vehicle. A restriction unit is configured to restrict activation of the safety device against the moving object based on the position of the moving object being out of the potential collision area.

    Abstract: A vehicle control device activates a safety device for suppressing a collision between a host vehicle and an oncoming vehicle that is traveling straight along an oncoming traffic lane, when the host vehicle changes from traveling straight along its own traffic lane to making a right or left turn to cross the oncoming traffic lane. The vehicle control device includes a judgement unit and a control unit, where the judgement unit judges when the host vehicle is in a right or left turning condition prior to crossing the oncoming traffic lane, and if is determined that the host vehicle is in the right or left turning condition, the control unit activates the safety device based on a time to lateral collision.

    Abstract: A vehicle collision avoidance assist apparatus keeps stopping a collision avoidance control when a forbiddance condition is satisfied, and a collision condition is satisfied. The forbiddance condition is a condition that the collision angle is equal to or greater than a predetermined collision angle threshold. The collision condition is a condition that an own vehicle is going to collide with an object. While the own vehicle turns, the apparatus acquires an own vehicle turning angle which the own vehicle has turned about a turning center from when the own vehicle starts turning and sets the predetermined collision angle threshold such that the predetermined collision angle threshold set for the greater own vehicle turning angle is smaller than the predetermined collision angle threshold set for the smaller own vehicle turning angle.
