  • Patent number: 6875422
Abstract: An oral treatment/care agent including the combination of one or more of an oral bacterial flora-controlling agent that will restore abnormal or sick oral bacteria flora to a normal or healthy oral bacterial state and a periodontal-pocket bacterial flora-controlling agent that will eliminate or convert the bacteria, fungi, viruses and other microbes in a periodontal pocket into a group of symbiotic bacteria. This agent is capable of preventing diseases of the oral tissue and is effective in stopping or slowing the development of a disease in progress.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 19, 2001
Date of Patent: April 5, 2005

  • Patent number: 6373972
Abstract: In a microbe and cell function control device, a primary electromagnetic wave radiation member is provided to radiate electromagnetic wave on microbes and cells within a predetermined wave length range thereof. An electromagnetic wave measuring member measures an intensity of a predetermined range of the electromagnetic wave permeated or reflected from the microbes and cells. An absorption intensity distinction member determines wavelength the microbes and cells absorb based on the intensity of the electromagnetic wave measured by the electromagnetic wave measuring member. A secondary electromagnetic wave radiation member radiates the electromagnetic wave absorbed by the absorption intensity distinction member on the microbes and cells.

  • Patent number: 5706814
Abstract: A method of determining an amount of insertion of a probe into a root canal of a tooth using an MRI device. The probe, which is made from magnetic material, is inserted into the root canal, which may be filled with dental pulp. Then, the probe and the root canal are imaged using an MRI device so as to determine the amount of insertion of the probe into the root canal.

  • Patent number: 5555884
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for determining the shape of a tooth, a prosthesis, a jaw bone, or an implant structure with an Magnetic Resonance Imaging device. However, since these items lack a substantial number of protons, electrons, or molecules which can be detected by an Magnetic Resonance Imaging device, these items are supplied with an Magnetic Resonance Imaging contrast medium which is rich in such protons, electrons, or molecules. Therefore, once the Magnetic Resonance Imaging contrast medium is supplied to the tooth, prosthesis, jaw bone, or implant structure, the Magnetic Resonance Imaging device can measure the items by measuring the Magnetic Resonance Imaging contrast medium surrounding the items. Furthermore, an electrical circuit may be provided which can determine the shape of the tooth, prothesis, jaw bone, or implant structure based on the measurements of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging device.

  • Patent number: 5401170
Abstract: In a measuring technique used to restore a tooth with an employment of an implant structure, it is desirable to precisely determine the direction and position of bonding points in which a prosthesis is attached to the implant structure at the time of curing the tooth by of the implant structure. Upon precisely measuring the direction and position of bonding points in which a prosthesis is attached to the implant structure, measurement points are provided with the bonding points, and are taken a picture by a camera. In the picture thus taken, shape and position of the measurement points are measured by an image processor device by way of illustration so as to measure the positional relationship of the bonding points of the implant structure which is embedded in a human jaw.

  • Patent number: 5163842
Abstract: Process and apparatus for producing a dental filling for restoration of a tooth crown, the dental filling being fitted to a cavity prepared in the tooth for filling the cavity. The apparatus includes a cutting device for preparing the cavity, the cutting device including a cutting element for cutting the tooth for the cavity preparation, and a cutting-element position sensor for monitoring movement of the cutting element for the cavity preparation and thereby producing a batch of outline form data representing a three-dimensional outline form of the cavity; a memory device for storing the batch of outline form data; a machining device for machining a prefabricated filling blank into the dental filling; and a control device for controlling operation of the machining device according to the batch of outline form data, so that the filling blank is machined into the dental filling having an outline form identical with the outline form of the cavity.
