  • Patent number: 6579466
Abstract: New water-dispersible or water-soluble sulphonated polyesters with a number molecular mass lower than 20000, exhibiting a sulphur weight content of the order of 0.5 to 10% and a hydroxyl functional group content, expressed as OH equivalent/kg of polymer, higher than 0.2. They may be employed as antisoiling and/or antiredeposition agents and optionally detergents in detergent compositions, in rinsing, softening or antisoiling treatment compositions, for washing with or without pretreatment, rinsing, softening or the antisoiling treatment of textiles, especially those polyester-based.

  • Patent number: 5290631
Abstract: Hydrosoluble/hydrodispersible polyester copolycondensates, well suited for the sizing of textile threads, comprise terephthalate, isophthalate, sulfoaryl dicarboxylate, ethylene glycol and polyoxyethylene glycol recurring structural units, have a glass transition temperature ranging from 15.degree. to 40.degree. C. at 85% relative humidity and the turbidity of aqueous formulations thereof are storage-stable over time; such polyester copolycondensates are conveniently prepared by (i) transesterifying admixture of dimethyl terephthalate, dimethyl sulfoaryl dicarboxylate and ethylene glycol, (ii) introducing isophthalic acid and an additional amount of ethylene glycol into the medium of transesterification and therein directly esterifying same, and (iii) polycondensing the resulting product of transesterification/direct esterification.

  • Patent number: 5156651
Abstract: A graft sulfonated polyester. A stock or sulfonated polyester carries grafts derived from a monomeric composition based on (a) at least one carboxylic acid unsaturated through ethylene, (b) butylacrylate or a mixture of monomers containing from 60-70% by weight of butyl acrylate and (c) at least one carboxylic acid ester, unsaturated through monoethylene. The graft sulfonate polyesters are prepared by polymerizing the monomeric composition in the presence of a water dispersible sulfonated polyester. Aqueous dispersions or aqueous solutions of the graft sulfonated polyesters may be used for sizing textile threads and fibers.

  • Patent number: 4912245
Abstract: Surfactant compositions in an acidic or neutralized form containing a mixture of at least one polyoxyalkylenated phosphoric acid monoester and at least one polyoxyalkylenated diester and a nonionic polyoxyalkylenated compound wherein the phosphoric acid diester:phosphoric acid monoester molar ratio before neutralization, if carried out, is at least equal to 0.9:1 and the phosphoric acid monoester and phosphoric acid diester content is at least 1 mol %, preferably at least 50 mol % of said composition. The surfactant compositions are prepared by phosphatization of a nonionic polyoxyalkylenated compound at a temperature of from about 35.degree. to about 45.degree. C. followed by maturing at from about 40.degree. to about 60.degree. C., in a stirred turbulent state. The compositions are useful in the formulation of active substances in the form of microgranules and flowables.
