Patent number: 7705615Abstract: An extruded capacitive sensor assembly includes multiple sense conductors of unequal length disposed in an upper section of a non-conductive jacket, and a ground conductor disposed in a lower section of the jacket adjacent a panel or carrier to which the strip is affixed. A sensor strip with three sense conductors is formed by extruding a non-conductive jacket having first and second sense conductors in the upper section of the jacket, and severing the first sense conductor to create three unequal length sense conductor segments. Electrical termination to the sense and ground conductors can be made at the point where the first sense conductor is severed, or at the end of the sensor strip. In cases where only two sense conductor segments are needed, the third sense conductor segment is removed or simply un-used.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 2007Date of Patent: April 27, 2010Assignee: STRATTEC Power Access LLCInventors: Zinovy Tyves, Gary D. Bree, Brent T. Repp, Seyed R. Zarabadi

Patent number: 6301834Abstract: A windowpane retainer assembly for retaining and guiding a side edge of an automotive windowpane. The assembly includes an elongated windowpane retainer fixed along a side edge of the windowpane. The assembly also includes a glass run channel that retains and guides reciprocal motion of the windowpane retainer. The glass run channel is mounted in an elongated channel receptacle in an automotive doorframe. Two retainer ramp surfaces engage corresponding channel ramp surfaces of the glass run channel such that increasing lateral pane extraction forces are countered by proportionately increasing lateral pane retention forces. The pane retention forces reduce or eliminate windowpane slop and prevent the windowpane from cocking within the channel receptacle of the doorframe. Low-friction surfaces minimize or eliminate windowpane wedging and jamming within the channel.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 1999Date of Patent: October 16, 2001Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Zinovy Tyves

Patent number: 6186653Abstract: A courtesy light fixture for an automotive vehicle includes a housing having a base, a header wall and a supporting portion connecting the header wall to the base. The base includes a plurality of resilient clips which snap onto a support member of a door module. Resilient fingers of the base bear against the support member and urge the base inward to seat the clips against the support. The header wall mounts a lamp receptacle. A seal surrounding the receptacle engages a flange of a lens assembly on a trim panel of the door module so that a lamp in the receptacle is held in a fixed relation with the lens assembly for best illumination of the lighted area. The lens assembly is removable from the trim panel for changing the lamp without removing the trim panel from the door.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 1999Date of Patent: February 13, 2001Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Zinovy Tyves, Joseph Frank Carnaghi, Gordon Leroy Cook

Patent number: 6170197Abstract: A sash/cam channel member is extruded from a plastic (e.g., thermoplastic) material and includes the same cross section whether the member is used in a sash-type application or a cam-type application. In one embodiment, the sash/cam channel member includes a channel formed therein for receiving a coupling member, which is attached to a moveable arm of the assembly, and a pair of opposing fork members. The windowpane is received between the pair of opposing fork members to produce a frictionally fit therebetween. The inner surfaces of the channel have a low friction layer (coating) formed thereon so that the coupling member slidingly travels within the channel is a near frictionless manner. Similarly, the inner surfaces of the pair of fork members have a high friction layer (coating) disposed thereon for increased gripping and coupling of the windowpane.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 1999Date of Patent: January 9, 2001Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Zinovy Tyves, Joseph Frank Carnaghi

Patent number: 6151833Abstract: A radially adjustable guide for a flexible line, a cable or tape, of an automotive regulator assembly is presented. The guide has a longitudinal channel disposed therein for receiving and guiding the flexible line, wherein the guide slidably captures the flexible line within the channel. The guide may be tubular. Alternatively, the guide may include a base portion; a pair of resilient arms extending upwardly from the base portion, defining the channel; and extensions extending inwardly from upper ends of the resilient arms for slidably capturing the flexible line in the channel. Additionally, the base portion of the guide may include a planar outer surface.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 1999Date of Patent: November 28, 2000Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Waldemar Wawrzyniec Gmurowski, Jayprakash Uttamchand Raisoni, Zinovy Tyves

Patent number: 6036244Abstract: A vehicle door handle assembly has a support that includes a concave shell having a pair of vertically spaced bosses with pivot holes for two concentric shafts. One shaft is operated by a handle in the shell and moves an operating lever behind the shell. The other shaft is operated by a lock knob in the shell and moves a second operating lever behind the shell.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 1999Date of Patent: March 14, 2000Assignee: General Motors CorporationInventors: Zinovy Tyves, Joseph Frank Carnaghi, Mark Vickery, Brian A. Patent number: 5186509Abstract: A molding assembly in which an elongated plastic molding is anchored to a vehicle door via a central clip and slidably supported by end clips so that thermal expansion and contraction takes place evenly from the midpoint of the molding so that the ends of the molding are always evenly spaced from the front and rear edges of the door. The end clips having flexible straps extending transversely of the sides of the clips and the straps are engageable with abutments on the molding so that the clips can be pre-assembled on the molding.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 1992Date of Patent: February 16, 1993Assignee: General Motors CorporationInventor: Zinovy Tyves
