Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention generally relates to a concealed carry system for carrying firearms. More particularly, the present invention relates to a concealed carry system that enables the wearer to carry self-defense items such as a handgun, mace, knife, etc. and personal items such as a cell phone, credit cards etc.

2. Description of Related Art

Previous concealed carry holsters, cases, or retention devices suffer from one or more of the following disadvantages in use.

Holsters, cases, or retention devices that reveal the shape or part of the weapon are required to be concealed from public view. This is generally accomplished by apparel that must be worn at all times, thus limiting the user's choice of dress or comfort. Some require placement inside or underneath apparel that must be removed or disengaged before accessing the weapon, thus limiting quick access or deployment. More specifically, by way of example, U.S. Pat. No. 4,022,361 to Devlin (1997) discloses a holster for a concealed weapon. The holster can be detachably secured to the inner side of the belt of the wearer with the holster and gun concealed within the trousers and beneath the shirt of the wearer. U.S. Pat. No. 5,054,671 to Else et. al. (1991) discloses a handgun holster that is contoured and designed to be worn beneath clothing in the abdominal area. U.S. Pat. No. 5,909,834 to Parrott, III (1999) discloses a concealed carry holster worn under a user's clothing. Other examples include U.S. Pat. No. 4,741,465 to Johnson (1988); U.S. Pat. No. 6,089,432 to Gage et al. (2000); U.S. Pat. No. 6,402,001 to Madarang (2002); U.S. PreGrant Pub. No. 2006/0196907 A1 to Pruitt 2006).

Consequently, it is desired to have a carry system that does not reveal the shape or part of the weapon and is concealed itself from view, thus allowing the user to dress in a manner of choice or comfort.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, there is disclosed a concealed carry system for carrying/supporting larger and smaller handguns and extra magazines; self-defense items such as mace or knife; and personal items such as cell phone, lipstick, ID, money, passport, credit cards, and keys.

The concealed carry system (“CCS” hereinafter) comprises one piece of elastic and breathable material with fastening means at both ends and at least one pocket along the piece of elastic material.

In one embodiment, the piece of elastic material is stretch lace/fabric so as to be worn as loose or tight as the wearer desires. Due to the fact that the material is soft and elastic and no hardware touches the skin, the CCS provides great comfort to the wearer from the start and does not require any “breaking in”. Breathable material helps air flow and keeps the wearer cooler in hot temperature. The CCS can come in varying lengths. However, the system is one size fits most body types and sizes. The piece of elastic material is ranging from 40-100 inches, more specifically 50-90 inches, more specifically 50-70 inches in length. The CCS will range from 1.5-10 inches in width, more specifically 3-8 inches, more specifically 5-7 inches.

The CCS will have between 1-5 pockets along the elastic fabric, more specifically 2 pockets on the last 6-50 inches on the right or first 6-50 inches on the left, more specifically 6-20 inches, more specifically 6-10 inches on the right end, more specifically 2 pockets measuring 3-5 inches side-by-side on right end. The pockets of the CCS will be created by folding the fabric over onto itself and sewing them in place. The pockets have a double layer of fabric for extra support.

In one embodiment, the pocket is specially designed and configured to carry and conceal a firearm; the pocket is intended for the barrel of the gun to be inserted into the pocket with the handle either out or inside of the pocket, depending on the size of the firearm. The length of the elastic material can then wrap more than once around the firearm to provide additional support. Optionally, the wearer can choose to leave the gun handle being exposed or covered by the elastic material. The ability to wrap material around gun handle enables the wearer to wear tighter fitting clothing. It is more concealable than most holsters due to the ability to wrap around gun handle so the gun conform to the wearer's body, enabling the wearer to wear tighter fitting clothing.

In one embodiment, the fastening means are suspender grips or clips. In another embodiment, the fastening means are fabric hook and loop fasteners such as Velcro® hook and loop. Integrated magnetic lock and other appropriate fastening means may be used in other embodiments. In one embodiment, the suspender grip/clip will be sewn to the end of the fabric, more specifically the left side, for securely fastening the CCS. The clip is 1-3 inches in length and 1-3 inches in width. The clip of the CCS is designed to grip onto the elastic fabric itself anywhere along the length of the fabric—leaving fitting options open to the user and will work for all body types.

The CCS can be worn by itself without needing a belt or strong waistband for support. The support is in the system itself by its construction. The CCS will give the wearer more options for their dress and alleviate the need to bring more than one holster in the event they change clothing due to its versatility.

The CCS is universal in attachment position on a wearer due to the design/material used. The CCS can be adjusted to fit different body parts by increasing or decreasing the number of times the fabric is wrapped, depending on the diameter of the body part in which it is being worn. The system may be worn on the user's waist, chest, belly, hip, thigh, calf, ankle or other attachment point deemed suitable.

The CCS gives the wearer the option of several different colors. The CCS can be worn and used by both left and handed wearers. The CCS will be hand washable in soap in water.
