Abstract

A marble table top includes a table frame and a marble table board. Atop surface of the table frame is formed with a recess. The marble table board is fitted in the recess of the table frame. The thickness of the marble table board is equal to the depth of the recess. The marble table top employs the table frame and the marble table board to mate with each other. The table frame is provided with the recess to mate with the marble table board so that the marble table board can be made as thin as possible. The sides and the bottom surface of the marble table board are covered by the table frame. The top surface of the marble table board is designed to maintain an elegant and beautiful appearance.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a table, and more particularly to a marble table top.

2. Description of the Prior Art

With the improvement of people's living standards, the furniture market is more prosperous. For example, there are various table tops on the market, made of wood, metal and marble materials. A marble table top is elegant and beautiful, but it consumes a lot of marble. The cost is high. The entire table top is quite cumbersome. The transportation and assembly of the marble table top need many persons to work together. The marble table top may hurt people, which is a great security risk.

As marble is more brittle, a marble table top and table legs are usually connected together by bonding, and cannot use bolts and other reliable connection. The bond strength is not enough, so the marble table top may disengage from the table legs. During transportation, because marble is fragile, it is necessary to protect marble carefully. However, it is still likely to damage the edges of a marble table top.

Accordingly, the inventor of the present invention has devoted himself based on his many years of practical experiences to solve these problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary object of the present invention is to provide a marble table top which has a simple structure and a low cost and can be transported and assembled conveniently.

In order to achieve the aforesaid object, the marble table top of the present invention comprises a table frame and a marble table board fitted to the table frame. A top surface of the table frame is formed with a recess. The marble table board is fitted in the recess of the table frame. The thickness of the marble table board is equal to the depth of the recess.

Preferably, the table frame has one of a square shape, a round shape and an oval shape.

Preferably, the recess of the table frame has one of a square shape, a round shape and an oval shape. The marble table board corresponds in shape to the recess.

Preferably, a bottom surface of the marble table board is fixedly connected with a backing plate.

Preferably, the backing plate is a tile or a support frame fixed to the bottom surface of the marble table board.

Preferably, the table frame is mounted to a foldable table stand.

The marble table top of the present invention employs the table frame and the marble table board to mate with each other. The table frame is provided with the recess to mate with the marble table board so that the marble table board can be made as thin as possible, thereby reducing the overall weight of the marble table top. The sides and the bottom surface of the marble table board are covered by the table frame. The top surface of the marble table board is designed to maintain an elegant and beautiful appearance on the basis of the maximum protection of the marble table board. The cost is lower, and the marble table board is embedded in the recess of the table frame. The structure is stable. There is no risk of disengagement. During transportation, except the top surface, the other sides of the marble table board are protected by the table frame, so the marble table top won't be damaged easily.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Embodiments of the present invention will now be described, by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings.

As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the present invention discloses a marble table top 100. The marble table top 100 comprises a table frame 1 and a marble table board 2 fitted to the table frame 1. The top surface of the table frame 1 is formed with a recess 11. The marble table board 2 is embedded and fitted in the recess 11 of the table frame 1. The thickness of the marble table board 2 is equal to the depth of the recess 11 so that the marble table board 2 is fitted in the recess 11 of the table frame 1. The top surface of the marble table board 2 is flush with the top surface of the table frame 1.

Wherein, the table frame 1 is made of a non-marble material, such as a wood material, a plastic material, an iron material and the like. The table frame 1 has a square, round or oval shape. The shape of the recess 11 of the table frame 1 is not limited thereto, which can be shaped according to actual needs. For example, the recess 11 may have a square, round or oval shape. The marble table board 2 corresponds in shape to the recess 11 of the table frame 1.

The marble table top 100 of the present invention employs the table frame 1 and the marble table board 2 to mate with each other. The table frame 1 is provided with the recess 11 to mate with the marble table board 2 so that the marble table board 2 can be made as thin as possible, thereby reducing the overall weight of the marble table top. The sides and the bottom surface of the marble table board 2 are covered by the table frame 1. The top surface of the marble table board 2 is designed to maintain an elegant and beautiful appearance on the basis of the maximum protection of the marble table board 2. The cost is lower, and the marble table board 2 is embedded in the recess 11 of the table frame 1. The structure is stable. There is no risk of disengagement. During transportation, except the top surface, the other sides of the marble table board 2 are protected by the table frame 1, so the marble table top won't be damaged easily.

As shown in FIG. 3, the marble table top 100 of the present invention is combined with a table stand 200 in accordance with an embodiment. As shown in the drawings, the marble table top 100 is mounted to the foldable table stand 200. However, the combination of the table stand 200 and the marble table top 100 may be in various ways.

As shown in FIG. 4, the bottom surface of the marble table board 2 of the present invention may be further combined with a support frame 3 made of aluminum alloy or other materials, or a tile may be directly bonded to the bottom surface of the marble table board 2. In this way, not only the marble table top 100 can be kept a heavy feeling, but also the marble table board 2 can be made as thin as possible, thereby reducing the consumption of marble and saving the cost.

Although particular embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. Accordingly, the present invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.

Claims

1: A marble table top, comprising: a table frame and a marble table board fitted to the table frame, a top surface of the table frame being formed with a recess, the marble table board being fitted in the recess of the table frame, a top surface of the marble table board being flush with the top surface of the table frame;

wherein the table frame is mounted to a table stand and comprises a bottom board and a side board erecting from and extending along a circumference of the bottom board so that the bottom board and the side board collectively define the recess; and

wherein the marble table is received in the recess and a bottom of the marble table is supported by the bottom board of the table frame such that the bottom and lateral sides of the marble table are respectively covered and protected by the bottom board and the side board of the table frame.

2: The marble table top as claimed in claim 1, wherein the table frame has one of a square shape, a round shape and an oval shape.

3: The marble table top as claimed in claim 2, wherein the recess of the table frame has one of a square shape, a round shape and an oval shape, and the marble table board corresponds in shape to the recess.

4: The marble table top as claimed in claim 1, wherein a bottom surface of the marble table board is fixedly connected with a backing plate.

5: The marble table top as claimed in claim 4, wherein the backing plate is a tile or a support frame fixed to the bottom surface of the marble table board.

6: The marble table top as claimed in claim 1, wherein the table stand to which the table frame is mounted comprises a foldable table stand.
