PORTABLE SMOKING APPARATUS
A portable smoking apparatus is able to be disassembled and stored in a convenient manner facilitating transport or carrying of the apparatus. A tubular body has a collar for attaching the apparatus to a water bottle. A bowl is placed in an opening of the tubular body above the collar so a stem passes through the collar into a fluid in the bottle. The bowl is able to be stored in the tubular body when not in use and is secured by a cap.
The present invention relates generally to smoking systems, and more specifically, to an apparatus for inhaling smoke from combustible material that can be easily disassembled and transported.
2. Description of Related ArtSmoking systems are well known in the art and are effective means to combust materials such as tobacco so that the gases released from the combustion can be consumed. For example,
One of the problems commonly associated with system 101 is it limited use. For example, the pipe device 101 is difficult to transport because of its size and the material it is made from.
In addition any small parts of the tobacco 113 near the tube 109 can be pulled along with the smoke to the tip 111 where they are inhaled, which is undesirable.
Accordingly, although great strides have been made in the area of pipe devices 101, many shortcomings remain.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTIllustrative embodiments of the system and method of use of the present application are provided below. It will of course be appreciated that in the development of any actual embodiment, numerous implementation-specific decisions will be made to achieve the developer's specific goals, such as compliance with system-related and business-related constraints, which will vary from one implementation to another. Moreover, it will be appreciated that such a development effort might be complex and time-consuming, but would nevertheless be a routine undertaking for those of ordinary skill in the art having the benefit of this disclosure.
The system and method of use in accordance with the present application overcomes one or more of the above-discussed problems commonly associated with conventional pipe devices. Specifically, the apparatus of the present invention can be safely and easily transported. In addition, the apparatus provides means of preventing particles from being consumed. These and other unique features of the system and method of use are discussed below and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
The system and method of use will be understood, both as to its structure and operation, from the accompanying drawings, taken in conjunction with the accompanying description. Several embodiments of the system are presented herein. It should be understood that various components, parts, and features of the different embodiments may be combined together and/or interchanged with one another, all of which are within the scope of the present application, even though not all variations and particular embodiments are shown in the drawings. It should also be understood that the mixing and matching of features, elements, and/or functions between various embodiments is expressly contemplated herein so that one of ordinary skill in the art would appreciate from this disclosure that the features, elements, and/or functions of one embodiment may be incorporated into another embodiment as appropriate, unless described otherwise.
The preferred embodiment herein described is not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise form disclosed. It is chosen and described to explain the principles of the invention and its application and practical use to enable others skilled in the art to follow its teachings.
Referring now to the drawings wherein like reference characters identify corresponding or similar elements throughout the several views,
In the contemplated embodiment, system 201 includes a body 203 generally formed like a tube enclosing a space 205 open on two ends. The body 203 having threads 207 on the outer surface 209 of one end and a collar 211 extending away from the other end at an angle. The collar 211 having a threaded interior surface 213. The threaded interior surface 213 configured to attach the body 203 to a water bottle 215. The body 203 having a penetration 217 passing from the outer surface 209 near the collar 211. The body 203 having an opening 219 opposite the collar 211. The body 203 also having a ridge 231 attached to the space 205.
The apparatus 201 also having a bowl 221 configured to rest in the opening 219 above the collar 211 so that a stem 223 extend down in the bottle 215. The body 203 being closed at the threaded 207 end by a removable cap 225 that has a pick 227 attached to a conical protrusion 229.
In use, the collar 211 is attached to a water bottle 215 and the bowl 221 is placed in the opening 219. A combustible material is placed in the bowl and the smoke is pulled down the stem 223 where is passes through the water 233 of the bottle and out the space 205 of the body 203. The penetration 217 provides an increased flow. When not in use the bowl 221 is placed in the threaded 207 end of the body 203 and secured in place via the ridge 231 and cap 225 as depicted in
It should be appreciated that one of the unique features believed characteristic of the present application is that bowl 221 is removable from the body 203 so that it can be compactly stored and transported.
Another unique feature believed characteristic of the present application is that collar 211 allows the apparatus 201 to attach to a water bottle 215 so that the water 233 can act as a filter for the combusted material.
Referring now to
The particular embodiments disclosed above are illustrative only, as the embodiments may be modified and practiced in different but equivalent manners apparent to those skilled in the art having the benefit of the teachings herein. It is therefore evident that the particular embodiments disclosed above may be altered or modified, and all such variations are considered within the scope and spirit of the application. Accordingly, the protection sought herein is as set forth in the description. Although the present embodiments are shown above, they are not limited to just these embodiments, but are amenable to various changes and modifications without departing from the spirit thereof.
