MAN'S SANITARY TOILET BARRIER

Abstract

A sanitary barrier includes an annular sheet, a C-shaped skirt, an inner shield, and an outer shield. The annular sheet has a first surface and second surface. The C-shaped skirt integrally extends from an inner periphery of the annular sheet and hangs when unsupported and the sanitary barrier is in a horizontal position. The inner shield is formed at a mouth of the C-shaped skirt and integrally extends from the inner periphery of the annular sheet past an inner perimeter of the C-shaped skirt. The outer shield integrally extends from an external periphery of the annular sheet opposite the inner shield. The sanitary barrier hangs inside a toilet and over a front of the toilet to protect a man's phallus and pelvic region while sitting down.

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

This application claims the benefit of priority of U.S. provisional application No. 63/061,650, filed Aug. 5, 2020, the contents of which are herein incorporated by reference.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to sanitary barriers and, more particularly, to a man's sanitary toilet barrier.

A man's penis often contacts the toilet when sitting down which can expose the penis to unwanted bacteria and other germs, as well as harsh chemicals. Pathogens can potentially travel to the man's partner during intercourse, causing infection. No product on the market offers a man's penis protection while sitting on the toilet.

As can be seen, there is a need for a sanitary barrier that prevents contact of a man's penis with the toilet.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In one aspect of the present invention, a sanitary barrier, comprising: an annular sheet having a first surface and second surface; a C-shaped skirt integrally extending from an inner periphery of the annular sheet, adapted to hang when the sanitary barrier is in a horizontal position and the C-shaped skirt is unsupported; an inner shield formed at a mouth of the C-shaped skirt and integrally extending from the inner periphery of the annular sheet past an inner perimeter of the C-shaped skirt; and an outer shield integrally extending from an external periphery of the annular sheet opposite the inner shield.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.

As used herein, the terms “front of the seat”, “front of the toilet”, and the like refer to the portion of the toilet a user faces when sitting on the toilet seat.

Broadly, one embodiment of the present invention is a protective barrier that protects a user from contact with viruses and other harmful germs. In particular, the barrier product may be placed on a toilet seat before a man sits. Whether the man sits with his member inside the toilet seat opening or lays it over the toilet seat, such as when the user sits closer to the front the seat, he has a protective barrier between his member and the front of the toilet. The sanitary barrier reduces the user's exposure to harsh chemicals, bacteria, and other germs that may adversely affect him and/or that may be transmitted to his partner during intercourse.

The inventive sanitary barrier is a protective barrier that may be used for various parts of the body in different circumstances. The inventive sanitary barrier may also be used to grab door handles or anything one does not want to touch directly. Moreover, the sanitary barrier may prevent urine spillage on the toilet seat or on the rim of the toilet bowl.

The inventive product hangs down inside the toilet to protect the man's penis and pelvic region while sitting down, putting a barrier between a penis and the inside front of the toilet, such as when the man presses his phallus inside the toilet. The sanitary barrier also hangs outside the front of the toilet to protect the penile member if it hangs over the front.

The protective barrier may be used by centering it over the toilet seat oriented so that when placed on the toilet it protects the man's penis and pelvic region while sitting on the toilet, then lowering the protective barrier onto the toilet seat. In some cases, the protective barrier may be placed directly onto the toilet bowl rim. The user may expose adhesive on one or more portions of the article and may press the adhesive against the corresponding portion of the toilet to prevent the barrier from slipping.

The sanitary barrier may be made from any suitable material, e.g., a coated paper sheet such as wax paper, another water-resistant paper sheet, or a plastic sheet or film. Different thicknesses of material may be used. Various sizes may be used. For example, the inner flap and the outer flap may comprise a rectangular sheet of wax paper about 6″× about 10″ in some embodiments.

In some embodiments, the protective barrier has an adhesive. Double-sided adhesive tape or glue on the bottom may be operative to removably attach the sanitary barrier to the toilet. The adhesive on the bottom prevents the wax paper from sliding. The adhesive may be adhered to a surface selected from the group consisting of: the first surface of the annular sheet: a contiguous surface thereto of the inner shield; a contiguous surface thereto of the outer shield; and a combination thereof.

Referring to FIGS. 1 through 8, FIG. 1 shows a man's protective toilet barrier 10 according to an embodiment of the present invention positioned on top of a toilet 22. The barrier comprises a seat cover 11, an inner shield 12 as shown in FIG. 2, an outer shield 14, a skirt 16, and adhesive 18. The inner shield 12 and the outer shield 14 are configured to be positioned at the front of the toilet. The skirt shields the user from the inner periphery of the toilet seat 24 and/or the toilet 22 bowl rim.

As FIGS. 3 and 6 demonstrate, adhesive backing 20 may be present to protect the adhesive 18 and may be removed before placing the barrier 10 on top of the seat 24 to prevent it from sliding. FIG. 4 shows that with the seat cover 11 in place on the seat 24, the skirt 16 encircles the inner portion of the seat 24 to prevent the user's skin from contact therewith. The inner shield 12 may be secured to the toilet 22 interior with adhesive 18 and the outer shield 14 may be secured to the toilet 22 exterior with adhesive 18.

In another embodiment, the barrier 10 may rest on the toilet 22 without adhesive, as shown in FIGS. 7 and 8.

It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.

Claims

1. A sanitary barrier, comprising:

a) an annular sheet having a first surface and second surface;

b) a C-shaped skirt integrally extending from an inner periphery of the annular sheet, adapted to hang when the sanitary barrier is in a horizontal position and the C-shaped skirt is unsupported;

c) an inner shield formed at a mouth of the C-shaped skirt and integrally extending from the inner periphery of the annular sheet past an inner perimeter of the C-shaped skirt; and

d) an outer shield integrally extending from an external periphery of the annular sheet opposite the inner shield.

2. The sanitary barrier of claim 1, wherein the annular sheet, the C-shaped skirt, the inner shield, and the outer shield are formed of a material selected from the group consisting of: a water-resistant paper sheet, a coated paper sheet, and a plastic sheet.

3. The sanitary barrier of claim 1, further comprising an adhesive operative to removably attach the sanitary barrier to a surface.

4. The sanitary barrier of claim 3, wherein the adhesive is double-sided adhesive tape or glue.

5. The sanitary barrier of claim 3, wherein the adhesive is adhered to a surface selected from the group consisting of: the first surface of the annular sheet: a contiguous surface thereto of the inner shield; a contiguous surface thereto of the outer shield; and a combination thereof.

6. The sanitary barrier of claim 3, further comprising an adhesive backing.
