FIELD OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention generally relates to the field of garments. More specifically, the present invention relates to a novel cuff design for accommodating multiple cuff links. The cuff comes in different designs and configurations such as French cuff and Barrel cuff and includes a plurality of holes for multiple cuff links. The cuff improves a person's look and style while offering a way for them to customize their outfit. Accordingly, the present disclosure makes specific reference thereto. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices, and methods of manufacture.
BACKGROUNDBy way of background, the shirt cuff is a part of a shirt that is designed to cover the wrist of a wearer and mark the end of the sleeve. The cuff serves as the “edging” or finishing detail of the shirt. While a shirt is worn, the cuffs are noticeable on a dress shirt as they are prominently visible when the shirt is worn with a jacket, blazer or the like or even without them. Cuffs serve as a decorative element that adds visual interest to a shirt and provide a professional and formal appearance. Cuffs also serve a practical purpose by providing a snug fit around the wrist, preventing the sleeves from riding up and ensuring the shirt stays in place.
To enhance the appearance of collared shirts, individuals generally choose to wear cuff links which are accessories designed to be used specifically with shirt cuffs. Cuff links are small decorative accessories that are used to fasten the cuffs of a shirt together. Cuff links can be used with conventional types of cuffs including but not limited to barrel cuffs, French cuffs and more. However, in the case of traditional cuffs, individuals can typically wear a single pair of cuff links. Limited use of a single pair of cuff links can restrict an individual's desired style who wants to accessorize their shirts with diverse types of cuff links. Individuals desire shirts with improved cuff designs that allow individuals to use multiple cuff links securely to provide a more fashionable and customized option.
Therefore, there exists a long felt need in the art for an improved shirt that can receive multiple cuff link designs. There is also a long felt need in the art for a shirt garment that has a plurality of buttonholes that allows for the application of multiple cuff links. Additionally, there is a long felt need in the art for custom-made shirts that feature newer and unique cuff designs. Moreover, there is a long felt need in the art for customized shirts that allow for the use of multiple cuff links. Further, there is a long felt need in the art for shirts with cuff designs that function as a more secure and fashionable option when compared to single cuff designs. Furthermore, there is a long felt need in the art for an improved shirt that allows users to place multiple different types of cuff links at the end of their shirt when worn with or without a jacket. Finally, there is a long felt need in the art for an improved shirt that allows users to customize the look of their multiple cuffs to accommodate a desired style or image.
The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a shirt cuff. The shirt cuff further comprising a first layer and a second layer, the layers have substantially the same size and shape and have a common folding line extending across the longitudinal edges of the cuff, the first layer has a plurality of cuff link holes disposed therein, the second layer has a plurality of corresponding cuff link holes disposed therein, wherein the corresponding cuff link holes are positioned to overlap and align with the cuff link holes of the first layer when the second layer is folded back along the folding line to overlap the first layer, the overlapping/aligning cuff link holes accommodate different types of cuff links to improve a wearer's look and style. In different embodiments, the cuff can accommodate two or more vertically or horizontally aligned cuff links.
In this manner, the customized shirt cuff of the present invention accomplishes all of the forgoing objectives and provides users with an improved shirt with customized cuff that can receive multiple cuff link designs. The cuff allows users to place multiple different types of cuff links at the end of their shirt. The cuff design can either be used on double or barrel cuffs and is much more secure and fashionable than the typical single cuff design. The cuff improves a person's look and style while offering a way for them to customize their outfit.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe following presents a simplified summary in order to provide a basic understanding of some aspects of the disclosed innovation. This summary is not an extensive overview, and it is not intended to identify key/critical elements or to delineate the scope thereof. The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a shirt cuff. The shirt cuff further comprising a first layer and a second layer, the layers have a common folding line extending along longitudinal edges of the cuff, the first layer has a plurality of cuff link holes disposed therein, the second layer has a plurality of corresponding cuff link holes disposed therein, wherein, the corresponding cuff link holes are positioned to overlap and align with the cuff link holes of the first layer when the second layer is folded back along the folding line to overlap the first layer, the overlapping and aligning cuff link holes accommodate different types of cuff links to improve wearer's look and style.
In a further embodiment, a shirt having a barrel cuff at end of a sleeve is disclosed. The barrel cuff includes a plurality of holes along a first edge of the cuff, another plurality of holes along the opposing edge of the cuff, wherein the plurality of holes and the another plurality of holes overlap and align with each other on snugly fitting the cuff around a wrist of a user, the overlapping and aligning holes accommodate cuff links allowing placement of a plurality of cuff links in the cuff.
In yet another embodiment, a shirt having a French cuff designed to accommodate two or more different cuff links is disclosed. The French cuff is made of a fabric and extends from a sleeve of a shirt. The cuff has a folding line along which one portion of the cuff is folded back to overlap and substantially cover another portion of the cuff wherein the portions have symmetrically positioned cuff link holes allowing placement of two or more cuff links allowing users to customize the look of their multiple cuffs to accommodate a desired style or image.
