Publication number: 20060005443Abstract: This concept of a less lethal firearm is a new idea in an old adage. The weapon is designed to be discharged with either left or right hand. It expels non-metallic ball projectile(s) 20. It discharges only blank power load cartridges 22, where the cartridge gas chamber 04 is bored only to fit this casing. These blank power load cartridges 22 are of low caliber and rim fired. The weapon has a simplified firing mechanism FIG. 5, allowing all legal aged persons to discharge the weapon regardless of gender or physical disabilities. It is designed in a club/striking defensive characterized shape FIG. 9. The weapon is Small enough in design to be easily concealed on one's person (as per laws). The weapon can be constructed from all polymer, therefore making it light-weight. The bore 03 is not of a standard caliber. The projectile weight is extremely less than that Of standard leaded projectiles. Making the kinetic energy, in foot pounds, much less than that of leaded projectiles.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 8, 2004Publication date: January 12, 2006Inventor: Philip Camp

Publication number: 20060005447Abstract: A digital processor aiming and firing system generates a trigger signal with electronic timing exactness, resulting in shooting accuracy unobtainable by humans. To achieve this, a view down the barrel sight is captured by a digital video camera and analyzed on a frame-by-frame basis by an electronic processor equipped with image identification software. Motion detectors attached to the weapon are used to interpolate the barrel position between frames. A motion history of the barrel position relative to the target is calculated and an extrapolation of the future position is made. When the anticipated barrel direction impinges on the target, corrected for motion and ballistic effects, the processor signals the launch of the projectile.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 10, 2004Publication date: January 12, 2006Inventors: Gerald Lenner, Philip Karcher

Publication number: 20060005449Abstract: A gunsight reticle defines a system of dimensioned indicia spaced at specific separations to improve aiming accuracy of a gun. The indicia may include perpendicularly intersecting center vertical and center horizontal hairlines, and four (or more or less) horizontal range-marker lines disposed at specific angular separations below the horizontal hairline in bisected relationship with the center vertical hairline. Spacing of the range marker lines below the center horizontal hairline is proportional to bullet drop at selected ranges, depending upon ballistic characteristics of bullet used. Relative lengths of said range-marker bars on each side of the central vertical crosshair are proportional to a specific crosswind (say 10 mph) at target range reflected by respective range marker. The method involves employing this reticle to determine distance to target, and using distance thus determined to ascertain a precise aiming point on the reticle.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 8, 2004Publication date: January 12, 2006Inventor: Thomas Smith

Publication number: 20060005479Abstract: Membrane roofs are susceptible to damage in high winds. Wind can lift a membrane roof from a building and cause it to tear or become damaged. The present roof vent prevents liftoff and damage by reducing the air pressure under the membrane during high winds. The present roof vent has two opposed convex domes separated by a gap. Wind blowing across the roof flows between the domes where it accelerates and creates a region of low pressure according to the Venturi effect. The lower dome has an opening at the gap so that the low pressure is applied to the space under the membrane roof. Therefore, when wind blows across the roof, the vent draws air from under the membrane and the membrane is pressed against the roof, preventing liftoff.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 11, 2005Publication date: January 12, 2006Inventors: James Jones, Demetri Telionis, Pavlos Vlachos, Elizabeth Grant, Jose Rullan, Charles Johnson

Publication number: 20060005486Abstract: A sealing system comprises a semi-flexible longitudinal strip (10) profile and a sealing material both adapted to maintain a sealed joint between typically relatively vertical and horizontal surfaces. The strip profile (10) comprises a first upper limb (11) having an upper limb upper boundary (12) and an upper limb lower boundary (13) between which there extends an upper limb inner face (14) and an upper limb outer face (18). From the upper limb inner face (14) and/or upper limb boundaries (19) there extends at least one second outer limb (20) having an outer limb inner boundary attached to the upper limb (18) and an outer limb outer boundary (33) between which outer limb boundaries there extends an outer limb upper face (25) and an outer limb lower face (26). A third inner limb and/or filler material is adapted to sealingly engage uncured sealing material and to aid the isolation of the uncured sealing material from the upper limb inner face (17) and/or the outer limb lower face (20).Type: ApplicationFiled: October 6, 2003Publication date: January 12, 2006Inventor: Gerard Robinson

Publication number: 20060005487Abstract: Generally, a portable enclosure assembled from a first plurality of axially coupled linear segments and a second plurality of axially coupled linear segments each plurality of axially coupled linear segments having sufficient flexure to generate one of a pair of arcuate supports which can be erected on a support surface a distance apart to provide support for a flexible material having a terminal edge which engages the support surface to establish an enclosure perimeter. Specifically, a portable sports activity enclosure which supports a net having an aperture through which balls can be thrown for pitching and batting practice.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 25, 2004Publication date: January 12, 2006Inventor: William Morrow

Publication number: 20060005489Abstract: A drywall finishing system for finishing 1) normal inside and outside corners of any angle, 2) stub wall or closet corners, 3) window wrap corners, and 4) L-metal for window sills and areas where drywall ends against some other surface like brick. The finishing system comprises a preformed trim piece comprising a semi-rigid member that is relatively thick in the center and tapers laterally to a thin edge. A layer of paper is bonded to the inside surface of the semi-rigid member for receiving joint compound to continuously bond the trim piece to the dry wall; this paper layer can optionally have a layer of adhesive material on its outer surface. A layer of finishing material is bonded to the exterior surface of the semi-rigid member.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 7, 2005Publication date: January 12, 2006Inventor: Timothy Smythe

Publication number: 20060005490Abstract: Notched, surface-mounted wall anchors and anchoring systems employing the same are disclosed. The anchor is a notched, folded sheetmetal construct utilizable with various wire formative veneer ties. The depth of the notch is greater than the combined thickness of the wallboard and the waterproofing layer. Various embodiments show wall anchor configurations with suitable veneer ties and differing sheathing arrangements. The notches, upon surface-mounting of the wall anchor, form small wells in the portion of the notch extending into the insulation, which wells entrain water vapor, condensate and water, and relieve the same from being driven into the wallboard.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 9, 2005Publication date: January 12, 2006Inventor: Ronald Hohmann
