Abstract: In a clutch device, an output shaft supports an input disk rotatably about an axis thereof, and a clutch disk non-rotatably about the axis and movably in an axial direction of the output shaft. An elastic member exerts resistive force on the input disk or the clutch disk when the clutch disk is about to come out of an engagement with the input disk. One of the input disk and the clutch disk has a trailing surface inclined by a predetermined angle from the axis, and the other has a curved control surface to come in a line contact with the trailing surface in a circumferential direction of the output shaft. The trailing surface and the curved control surface generate a component force of a driving force in the axial direction. The other having the curved control surface is higher in hardness than the one having the trailing surface.

Abstract: The invention is a bare floor cleaning appliance provided with a foot pedal for raising and lowering the suction nozzle while simultaneously energizing and de-energizing the independent drive motor powering a horizontal axis rotary agitator. The foot pedal is depressed once to lower the suction nozzle to a position closest to the floor surface and the horizontal rotary agitator is energized to clean the floor surface. Suction from the motor-fan assembly is used to pick up dirt and used cleaning solution. The foot pedal is depressed one more time to raise the suction nozzle from the floor surface and de-energize the horizontal rotary agitator. In this mode, suction from the motor-fan assembly is used to pick up dry objects including dirt. The foot pedal operates the switch for energizing and de-energizing the independent electric motor by rotating a mode indicator operably connected to the foot pedal.

A non-laminating breakaway material layer is selectively placed between layers of the printed circuit board. A perimeter portion of the printed circuit board near the breakaway material layer is scored. Then the breakaway material layer and adjacent layers between the perimeter of the printed circuit board are removed.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a method of fabricating a rigid-flexible printed circuit board. Specifically, this invention relates to a method of fabricating a rigid-flexible printed circuit board, in which an internal circuit pattern exposed for use in an external pad and a mounting pad is protected from external environments using a resist cover by window etching the base copper foil of a flexible region upon formation of an external circuit pattern as opposed to using a resist cover. Thus the number of fabrication processes and the fabrication costs are decreased and the increase in defect rates due to contamination is prevented, resulting in maximized reliability.

Abstract: Armature pin assemblies and methods for forming the same are described. A first portion of a pin member is placed in a die cavity so as to expose a second portion of the pin member. An amount of metal powder is placed into the die cavity so as envelope the second portion of the pin member. A press member is then brought into contact with the metal powder so as to compress the same and form an armature member. The pin member is fastened to the armature member by the press operation so as to form a unitary armature pin assembly.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a connecting rod assembly having a stepped small end. The method includes defining a small end of a connecting rod assembly having a terminal end and defining a pin bore extending therethrough. A pair of channels are formed on opposite sides of the small end, perpendicular to the pin bore and a bushing is subsequently installed into the pin bore. Where a connecting rod assembly does not include a bushing the method includes defining a small end having a pin bore and forming pair of channels on opposite sides of the small end. A contact surface is then defined within the pin bore to engage a piston pin and the small end is machined to provide a stepped configuration. The connecting rod assembly is then machined to reduce the width of the small end to provide a stepped configuration.

Abstract: Jack screws are threaded into the lower carrier half adjacent opposite ends and sides of the lower carrier half for supporting it on temporary support plates on shoulders in the lower outer shell. Tapped openings are provided below the temporary support plates. Alignment of the steam faces is carried out by adjusting the end jack screws. The upper carrier half is lowered onto the lower carrier half with bores in the upper carrier half receiving upper end portions of the jack screws. Permanent keys are secured to flanges of the upper carrier half to support the carrier from the lower outer shell. The jack screws and temporary plates are removed and hold down bolts are inserted into the bores and thread into the tapped opening to hold the carrier down on the lower outer shell.
