Abstract: A knife is disclosed for cutting crop materials, and includes a base portion having an interior edge and a pair of end edges. The base portion has an exterior region opposite the interior edge and has opposite major faces. The knife further includes a plurality of teeth extending from the base portion, with each tooth being defined by a perimeter edge. The perimeter edge of the tooth includes a leading edge portion and a transition edge portion extending between the leading edge portion of the tooth and an adjacent tooth. The leading edge portion is formed by a leading edge surface lying substantially in a plane that is oriented at a first bevel angle with respect to one of the major faces. The transition edge portion is formed by a transition edge surface that is oriented with respect to one of the major faces at a second bevel angle.

The pencil sharpener has a sharpener body, which defines a pencil-guiding channel and has a blade holder, set at an angle with respect to an axis of the pencil-guiding channel, for a shaving blade. The sharpener body is also provided with at least one gripping area intended for bearing one or more fingers of a hand holding the sharpener body during the sharpening operation. The at least one gripping pad is made of a soft material in comparison with the sharpener body and is provided at least in a subregion of the gripping area.

Abstract: According to the present invention, a razor handle includes a connecting pod and a first handle portion. The connecting pod has a cartridge-connecting member, and a handle-connecting member. The first handle portion includes a pod-connecting member, and includes a first molded portion, a battery-powered device, and a second molded portion. The battery-powered device is at least partially encased between the first molded portion and the second molded portion. The handle-connecting member of the connecting pod is connected to the pod-connecting member of the first handle portion such that the connecting pod and the first handle portion are not detachable during normal use of the razor handle. The cartridge-connecting member of the connecting pod is operable to connect to a selectively detachable razor cartridge.

The razor cartridge includes one or more razor blades, each having a cutting edge. A shaving aid body may also be releasably coupled to the handle. The razor cartridge and shaving aid body may be releasable individually or as a unit. The handle has one or more user operable buttons to release the razor cartridge and shaving aid body when operated by the user. The protective cover has a top wall that covers the cutting edges of the blades and the top surface of the shaving aid body to protect these elements from accidental damage. The protective cover has a side surface that covers the user operable buttons to prevent these being operated by the user when the protective cover is coupled to the shaving razor.

Abstract: An arrangement for use in a light beam projection device for adjusting an orientation of a projected light beam is disclosed. The arrangement comprises a base frame, a support platform adapted to set the orientation of the projected light beam, and a pivot member pivotally mounting the support platform relative to the base frame. A tilting motor is provided to the base frame and has a pair of output shafts influencing the orientation of the support platform, whereby rotation of the output shafts in a first direction tilts the support platform only along a first axis, and rotation of the output shafts in a second direction tilts the support platform only along a second axis. A power supply is provided for driving the tilting motor.

As such, since a filler material of different composition is ensconced inside the body, the present invention weighs the same as an originally solid plumb bob such that there are no differences during utilization. Furthermore, the invention herein achieves the objective of reducing production cost.

Abstract: Several optical probes useful in downhole applications are provided. A first probe has a tip in the form of a cubical corner with the diagonal of the cubical corner aligned with the axis of the probe. A second probe has a tip formed in a 45° cone. In these designs, light will bounce respectively three times or twice, but still retain the same orientation. To facilitate drainage, the very tip of the probe may be rounded. Both designs also provide a probe with a large numerical aperture and both are useful for detecting reflectance and the holdup of a multiphase fluid. A third probe uses (hemi)spherical or paraboloid probe tip. The third probe tip has a small numerical aperture and is useful for detecting fluorescence and oil velocity. In all three embodiments, the base behind the probe tip may be tapered to facilitate fluid drainage.

Abstract: A clothes dryer has a degree of dryness control system that is responsive to moisture level of clothing articles tumbling in a drum and a target moisture value to control the drying cycle of the clothes dryer. The clothes dryer has a load size parameter producing module and an air flow detection parameter module. These modules generate one of two parameter conditions used by the processor to modify or select an appropriate moisture target value. The load size producing parameter module generates one of a small load input parameter and a large load input parameter. The air flow detection module produces one of a first and second air flow parameter to be utilized by the degree of dryness processor. As a result, the processor selects one of four target moisture values from these conditions.

Abstract: A moisture sensing circuit for a clothes dryer in which clothes tumble during drying has a pair of spaced apart electrode sensors for sensing the electrical resistance of the clothes when the clothes contact the electrodes. The circuit has an active filter for suppressing noise related to the operating line frequency of the clothes dryer to provide a filtered voltage signal representative of voltage drop across the electrode sensors with the line frequency noise suppressed.

Abstract: An article of footwear is provided in which the footbed is formed from a shoe last which is considerably thicker at the metatarsal region than conventional footwear permitting a much thicker insole to be received within the footbed. The thicker insole of a ?? or greater throughout permits a range of different durometers of material to be used to ensure that maximum compression of the material is not reached through a stepping motion of a user of the footwear. A metatarsal insert and a combined heel and arch insert are received within respective cavities in a body of the insole so that durometers of the heel, arch and metatarsal region of the insole can be customized to a particular user's needs. The combined effect of the resulting thicker insole and varying durometers of the inserts therein results in a users applied weight being substantially evenly distributed across an entire footprint of the footwear during a stepping motion.
