Abstract: The present invention relates to a peach-almond hybrid tree, Prunus sp., and more particularly to a new and distinct variety broadly characterized by a very large, extremely vigorous, hardy, self-sterile, productive and regular bearing tree. The fruit matures under the ecological conditions described in early September, with the first picking on Sep. 4, 2004. The tree is commercially useful as a rootstock for almost all prunus species. The variety was developed as a first generation cross using ‘Titan’ (unpatented) almond as the selected seed parent and ‘Nemaguard’ (unpatented) peach as the selected pollen parent.

Abstract: A system and method for providing auxiliary power to a large diesel engine allowing shutdown of such large engine in all weather conditions. An auxiliary power unit made up of a secondary engine coupled to an electrical generator is provided. An automatic control system shuts down the primary engine after a period of idling and the auxiliary power unit provides electrical power for heating and air conditioning. In cold weather, the auxiliary power unit maintains the primary engine coolant and lube-oil warm to facilitate engine restart. The coolant system is kept warm using a heat exchanger and electrical heaters. The lube-oil system is kept warm using a recirculating pump and electrical heaters. In warm weather, the auxiliary power unit provides electrical power for air conditioning and other hotel loads. The auxiliary power unit isolates the primary engine batteries during operation and provides electrical power for hotel and non-vital loads.

Abstract: A method of friction welding first and second parts together at an angular orientation relative to each other includes the steps of mounting the first part in a spindle for axial rotation and the second part in a non-rotatable holder. The spindle is then rotated and the angular orientation of the first part relative to the second part is determined at any specific time. The holder is moved toward the spindle to bring the second part into frictional contact with the first part at a selected one of the specific times that the angular orientation is determined. Accordingly, due to frictional contact, the respective contacting surface of the parts are melted. The speed of the rotation of the spindle is then decreased and the holder is moved toward the spindle to forcibly urge the first and second parts together at the contacting surface.

A transmission is coupled to the crankshaft to transmit power from the engine to the drive assembly. The cam drive mechanism is connected to the crankshaft at a first end portion of the crankshaft. The transmission is connected to the crankshaft at a second end portion of the crankshaft opposite the first end portion.

The ends of the heat sinks open out of the cabinet, so that any heat sink may receive a tray of food from either the front or back of the cabinet. The interior surface of the heat sinks generally conform to the cross-sectional shapes of the trays, so that the heat sinks lie along the bottoms and sides of the trays. The heat sinks have a heating elements extended along their sides and bottoms for elevating the temperature of the heat sinks and directing heat into the trays within the heat sinks. In addition, each heat sink also contains a cover which may close the top of the tray in the heat sink and thereby retard the escape of moisture from the tray or may vent the interior of the tray.

For each digital image received by the camera, a software program determines the destination of each line of text according to its fall rate, and then uses pixel color comparison techniques to determine if a “virtual obstacle” is located at the particular destination. If not, the text is displayed at the destination so that the text appears to “fall” on the screen. If a virtual obstacle is present, a new higher destination is determined until the virtual obstacle is no longer detected.

Production of a film is by layer thinning, wherein a layer of the silica precursor solution is formed on a surface followed by removal of an amount of the silica precursor solution and leaving a geometrically thinner layer of the silica precursor solution from which the solvent quickly escapes via evaporation.

A stripe of an adhesive is applied along an edge of the laminated web of absorbent paper and plastic film on the plastic film side thereof. The stripe of adhesive is covered with a release tape. The laminated web is severed transversely at predetermined longitudinal intervals to form individual bibs, which are collected.

The device is extremely stable and has excellent strength to weight ratio. The web can be drawn taut, without compromising stability or strength, providing the user with an effectively flat, comfortable area to sleep or relax. The invention allows freedom of motion, has aesthetic appeal (and thereby marketing value), is safer than prior art, and is suitable for either a single user or more than one person at a time.
