Abstract: A head projector comprises a protective skirt for use with a helmet for protecting parts of a wearer's head below the peripheral edge of the helmet, such as the temporal and occipital regions. The protective skirt comprises one or more layers of high tensile strength flexible material, such as an aramid material and a securing mechanism for enabling the skirt to be suspended from the helmet in the required position. The protective skirt may extend to a position below a person's head to cover and protect a person's neck region.

Abstract: An improved edge band for a protective helmet includes a flexible woven-fiber elongate band applied to the edge of a helmet shell. The elongate band is positioned such that side edges of the elongate band extend in intimately conforming contact along a surface contour of the helmet shell. Abstract: A disposable mitt used for wiping and cleaning babies that inverts to be used as a waste disposal device. The mitt is made up of two different layers, one of a pre-moistened flexible outer layer used to clean up refuse and other waste from a skin's surface, and the other a protective flexible inner layer, usually made of durable plastic that functions to protect the hand from contact with the skin surface. The mitt is used to wipe the skin of the affected area and then hold the refuse materials and any other products used while the user performed the cleaning function (i.e. the diaper, extra wipes, etc.). All refuse materials are disposed of in the mitt apparatus. After wiping the skin surface, the product is inverted so that the inner layers now become the outer layers in order to form a disposable bag. Finally, the use of a pleated edge drawstring ensures that the bag is completely closed and a single continuous loop pull sting ensures that the string does not come detached.

Abstract: A patient support system to be used in conjunction with a standard linear accelerator, and other sources, is described that allows access of the treatment beam to the breast from up to 360 degrees. This support system places the patient in a prone position with the breast going through an aperture. The prone position increases the separation of the breast from the chest wall and other critical organs and reduces motion of the target tissue due to breathing. This invention offers up to 360 degree radiation beam access to the breast. This helps in skin sparing, better dose conformity, and allows one to use modern treatment techniques such as IMRT and IGRT. It also includes a provision for an imaging system. This invention can also be used with CT and MR imaging modalities.
