Abstract: There is provided a shoe bottom repair agent consisting of one-component thermosetting composition comprising as main ingredients a terminal isocyanate having urethane prepolymer and/or a polyisocyanate compound and a latent curing agent. This shoe bottom repair agent is free from, experienced in use of solvent base shoe bottom repair agents, safety and sanitation problems such as odor and inflammation by solvent evaporated at the time of curing as well as cured matter thickness reduction of a mended part caused by solvent evaporation. With use of this shoe bottom repair agent, damaged shoe bottom portion can be mended to a desired shape through one-time repair work. Short-time curing can be effected by heating. Further, before heating, there is substantially no viscosity increase and no surface film is formed to avoid adhesion of a film resulting from surface drying to a spatula. Therefore, the repair surface can be finished smoothly and neatly.

Abstract: The present invention imparts fire-retardancy upon cellulosic products utilizing a cost-effective, non-toxic, and reliable process. Unlike previous methods which impart superficial fire-retardant coatings upon finished products, the present process treats the individual cellulosic particles (i.e. fibers, chips etc.) that make up cellulose-based particle products. Treating the individual particles provides fire-retardancy throughout the entire length and width of the product. This full-depth retardancy provides superior protection, especially in catastrophic fires where the surface coat of other products can be compromised.

Abstract: Various embodiments of the present invention provide for methods of manufacturing an electronic device that utilizes a unitary outer body. In one embodiment, a method is provided for installing an exterior component into an interior chamber of the unitary outer body through an opening in the outer body. The exterior component may be sized such that it cannot fit into an open end of the outer body when it is coupled with an interior component. As the unitary outer body cannot be disassembled to receive the coupled components into its interior, a method of the present invention inserts an end of the exterior component into the unitary outer body through an opening provided in the outer body to couple with the interior component.

Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a stator core of an electric rotating machine, a cylindrical laminated core is formed by thinning a side portion of a steel plate with magnetic pole teeth and helically winding the steel sheet, and the stator core is manufactured by performing ironing for the laminated core. This laminated core has steel sheets aligned along the axial direction thereof, and the sheets have respective thinned outer end portions spaced apart from one another on the outer side of the laminated core. In the ironing, the thinned outer end portions of the steel sheets are brought into contact with one another in a forming apparatus, and an ironing load is given to the thinned outer end portions to shorten lengths of the thinned outer end portions in the radial direction of the laminated core at a predetermined value.

Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for a magnetic component. The magnetic component includes a substrate having a feature and a first conductive pattern disposed on the feature. The magnetic component also includes a permeability material disposed within the feature. A substrate material is disposed on the substrate to facilitate substantial enclosure of the permeability material between the substrate and the substrate material, where the substrate material has a second conductive pattern. The first conductive pattern and the second conductive pattern cooperate to be capable of facilitating magnetic properties of the permeability material.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention help to prevent deformation of a gimbal in detaching a head slider from a suspension. In an embodiment of the present invention, after a head slider has been mounted on a suspension, a test on the assembly is conducted. If a defect head slider is found in the test, the head slider is detached from the suspension. The head slider is discarded but the suspension is reused and a new head slider is mounted on the suspension. In detaching the head slider, a pin inserted in a through-hole on the center line of a gimbal tongue latches the gimbal tongue.

Abstract: Methods and system for making and using vacuum switching devices are disclosed. A vacuum switching device has an operating rod for actuating a movable electrical contact within the device. The operating rod may be a hollow epoxy glass tube with an electrical sensor disposed within it, and there may be an elastomeric polymer filling compound disposed within the tube and encasing the sensor. The operating rod may be attached to the movable electrical contact on one end by a steel end-fitting that has been press-fit into the tube and secured with at least one cross pin. In this way, a very secure electromechanical connection may be made between the operating rod and the rest of the vacuum switching device, and the sensor is protected from shock associated with the operation of the device. Moreover, the vacuum switching device is compact and easy to construct.
