For the power supply to the function unit and to the control unit, a first switching contact having an actuation element and a power supply are provided in a power supply circuit. Parallel to the first switching contact, a second switching contact is provided which is actuated by the control unit. The first switching contact is a two-way contact having a power supply contact and a control contact which is connected with an input of the control unit and can alternatingly make contact with the power supply contact.

Abstract: Avionic funnel integrally connected to a supporting planar platform in combination with an essentially flat disposable filter that is transformed into a three-dimensional conic configuration disposed to be inserted into the conic funnel. The apex of the conic funnel is truncated and projected through a first circular orifice at the approximate center of the supporting planar platform such that an effluent is focused into a receiving vessel upon which the supporting planar platform is placed. A second orifice vents air displaced by the effluent. A tab-like member and/or handle are used to hold or hang the apparatus. The apparatus has special applications for brewing beverages such as coffee by using nonproprietary nonpreformed low-cost generic circular paper filters such as those used in consumer coffeemakers as well as eliminating auxiliary laboratory equipment needed to vertically hold Buchner type funnels.

Abstract: A kitchen appliance for cooking foodstuff in a liquid includes an outer shell having an upper surface and a lower surface, and a base enclosing the lower surface of the outer shell. A cooking pot is positioned within the outer shell for receiving the foodstuff and the liquid. The cooking pot has an upper rim and an air gap is defined by the outer shell, the base and the cooking pot. A heating element is positioned within the air gap. A rib is mounted between the upper surface of the outer shell and the upper rim of the cooking pot for preventing the flow of liquid into the air gap.

Abstract: A kitchen appliance for cooking foodstuff in a liquid including a container for receiving the foodstuff and the liquid. The container having an open end and a closed end. The open end of the container includes two spaced-apart lips. A lid is removably mountable to the open end of the container to enclose the foodstuff and the liquid therein. The lid includes two oppositely oriented elongated sliders. Each slider has a proximal and a distal end. At least one biasing member engages the proximal ends of each of the sliders. In a resting position, the at least one biasing member urges each of the distal ends of the sliders into one of the lips for selective engagement of the lid to the container.

Abstract: A portable electric grill for that has utilizes an electric fan to draw smoke and cooking odors through a filter then redirects and circulates the cleaner hot air around food to create convection heating thereby improve and making faster the cooking process. The grill can be used for indoor or outdoor use. It has a removable lid that when in the down position it provides the circulation of the hot air throughout the grill. It has a removable grill plate that either sits on top of heating elements or has heating elements imbedded in the grill plate. The grill plate is used for searing various foods and then allowing the convection air to cook the foods throughout. It has controls for regulating temperature, cooking time and fan speed. It has a pull-out grease tray to catch and dispose of drippings from cooking food. The filter is removable for cleaning.

Abstract: Described here is a rectangular, parallelepiped shaped, portable cooking device that consists of a rigid Stand, with attached lid and flaps, that supports multiple food heating containers. A dual purpose transport case/cooking cover, made of heat resistant materials, is a key feature to the design utility by securely transporting the device and acting as a heat efficiency Cover during the food heating process. When used in conjunction with the Stand flaps and lids, this Cover provides many innovations over prior art by preventing heat escape and weather intrusion. Various burner and fuel devices ( i.e.: Sterno, Propane, Electric, Coal, Wood . . . ) can be used to provide the heat for this device. The combination of these multi-functional components, in a single compact, portable, modular unit provide significant improvements over current conventional devices by offering multiple options for food heating and serving with increased efficiency in space usage, heat efficiency and transportability.

Abstract: A steamer for sandwich buns, bagels, croissants, cakes, vegetables, pastas, and other foods delivers fixed amounts of water onto a hot, dry platen through a vertically-oriented water conduit which is also thermally insulated from the hot platen and made from thermally insulating materials. The vertically-oriented water conduit retains water after a water supply is shut off at the beginning or end of a steam generating cycle. Orienting the conduit vertically reduces the surface area of liquid water exposed to air. Insulating the water conduit from the hot platen reduces the rate at which water standing in the conduit evaporates. Tubes used in the water conduit are insulating and easily removed from the water conduit assembly and flexible. Minerals that precipitate out of solution and become deposited onto the flexible tube are easily removed by flexing the flexible tube.

Abstract: The present invention provides a precision press device and a press load control method thereof for downsizing a vacuum chamber in press work in the vacuum chamber, shortening a time required to reach a vacuum and further performing high accuracy pressure control. To downsize a chamber 16, a pressure sensor is set up outside the chamber 16 and a cylinder chamber 17 is formed to allow a tubular plunger 7 to slide up and down using the tubular shape of the chamber 16. A negative pressure 22 in the chamber 16 attracts the pressurized section 2 and the pressurizing section 1 to each other, but by injecting an equivalent pressure 19 of a fluid into the cylinder chamber 17, pushing out the tubular plunger 7, the attractive forces are canceled out. It is possible to control the load on the substrate or the like transferred by the press stage with high accuracy.

The inlet chute is a front or rear access chute, such that the lifting height of the inlet chute is significantly lower than the top opening level of the bin generally. The unit has an internal refuse flow accumulation path, and internal members such as deflector plates oriented to urge the refuse to fill and compact more evenly than otherwise. The unit may have a liquid drain and collection sump. The sump may have a sump heater.

Abstract: A method of printing fine patterns prints a fine pattern on a substrate using an elastic mold with an intaglio pattern. This method includes applying a fine pattern printing ink to a surface of a patterned elastic mold; removing the ink applied to an embossed portion of the elastic mold by closely adhering an ink removing unit having a polymer resin or an organic compound with a surface energy from <a surface energy of the ink?2 erg/cm2> to <the surface energy of the ink+erg/cm> to the surface of the elastic mold and then detaching the ink removing unit therefrom; and closely adhering the elastic mold to a substrate to transcribe the printing ink thereto. This method allows forming a fine pattern with good quality since the ink applied to the embossed portion of the elastic mold may be effectively removed during a gravure process.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides embodiments of processes and apparatuses for printing series of different graphics on substrates used in the manufacture of absorbent articles. Such printed substrates can be used, for example, in the manufacture of printed diaper components, such as backsheets, topsheets, landing zones, fasteners, ears, absorbent cores, and acquisition layers. Embodiments of the apparatuses and methods disclosed herein utilize flexographic printing to provide for a sequential manufacture of a series of n absorbent articles having different graphics printed thereon, wherein n can be a number of 2 or greater. The printing press includes a first plate cylinder rotating at a constant angular velocity and printing on a web during each revolution about a first plate cylinder axis and a first blanket cylinder rotating at varying angular velocities during each revolution about a first blanket cylinder axis. The first blanket cylinder comes in and out of contact with the first plate cylinder during operation. A method of variable cutoff printing is also provided.

The cross belt cars (24) are loaded with material at induction areas (3). The types or methods of inducting material onto the cross belt cars (24) range from manual to semi-automatic to fully automatic.

Abstract: The present inventions relate to cellulose esters having low hydroxyl content for use in optical applications, such as liquid crystal display (LCD) films. Films with low hydroxyl levels and a given ratio of non-acetyl ester to hydroxyl level have low intrinsic birefringence. These films can be cast, molded, or otherwise oriented without an appreciable birefringence or optical distortion (i.e. retardation). These films are useful in polarizer, protective, and compensator films and in molded optical parts, such as lenses. The resins of the present inventions can also be made to have “+C plate” behavior either by melt or solvent based processing, which is uncharacteristic of cellulose esters. Such +C behavior allows films having unique compensatory behavior. Other embodiments of the invention relate to methods of melt casting films while minimizing birefringence. Another embodiment of the invention is directed to films made from the cellulose esters described herein further comprising a plasticizer.

Abstract: A high early strength pozzolan cement includes larger sized pozzolan particles and smaller sized hydraulic cement particles which contain tricalcium silicate (e.g., Portland cement). Particles larger than 10 ?m are predominantly (50%, 65%, 75%, 85% or 95%) pozzolan particles, and particles smaller than 10 ?m are predominantly (50%, 65%, 75%, 85% or 95%) hydraulic cement particles. Excess calcium from the hydraulic cement forms calcium hydroxide available for reaction with the pozzolan particles, optionally in combination with supplemental lime. At least 30%, 40%, 45%, 55%, 65% or 75% of the pozzolan cement (combined pozzolan and hydraulic cement particles) consists of pozzolan, and less than 70%, 60%, 55%, 45%, 35% or 25% consists of hydraulic cement.
