Abstract: Disclosed herein is a printed circuit board assembly of an electronic appliance including a plurality of boards on which electrical parts to perform functions necessary for the electronic appliance are separately arranged according to the specification of the electronic appliance. The printed circuit board assembly is divided into a plurality of boards, such that electrical parts having a common specification and electrical parts having different specifications are arranged on different boards, thereby optimizing the printed circuit board assembly and configuring the boards according to the specification of the electronic appliance without loss. Microprocessors are arranged on the boards, and the boards are connected to each other in a serial communication, thereby reducing the number of wiring harnesses (W/H) and thus configuring the printed circuit board assembly with high reliability.

Abstract: A printed circuit board and a method of manufacturing the printed circuit board are disclosed. The method of manufacturing a printed circuit board including a via, which is configured to electrically connect both sides of an insulator, and a pad part, which is formed in one side of the insulator to be directly in contact with the via, can include forming a seed layer part on one side of the insulator, a portion of the seed layer part being bulged, forming a via hole by processing the other side of the insulator, corresponding to the bulged portion of the seed layer part, forming the via inside the via hole, and forming a plating layer, corresponding to the pad part, on the seed layer part. With the present invention, it is possible to form a pattern having a finer pitch, maintaining a VOP structure and to prevent a lower side of a substrate from being penetrated through when a via hole is processed.

Abstract: A circuit board has plated through holes which are laid out with a fine pitch and meets requirements relating to characteristics such as strength and thermal expansion coefficient. A method of manufacturing a circuit board includes: a step of forming a core portion by thermal compression bonding prepregs formed by disposing carbon fibers so as to produce openings at positions where plated through holes will pass through and impregnating the carbon fibers with resin; a step of forming through holes that pass inside the openings at positions of the openings in the core portion; and a step of forming a conductive layer on inner surfaces of the through holes to form plated through holes at positions that do not interfere with the carbon fibers and thereby produce a core substrate.

Abstract: An electrical cable with three insulated conductors, a tube for an optical cable, a strip of elastic material embedding the tube, and a jacket. When the cable is handled, e.g. suspended between poles or dredged into the ground, the tube can be deformed by external forces. This makes it impossible to blow or float the optical cable into the tube. The tube is protected by the strip, and especially by the strip having a flat interval in proximity to the tube. External forces will mainly deform the strip at the ends of the interval and less of the forces will hit the tube. The deformation sets up an interior pressure in the strip that acts in sideward direction on the tube and contributes to keep it round and non deformed.

Abstract: A vertical water jet cutter method of boring holes in the ground and other solid substrate managing the difficulties of removing the center stone by freezing it until brittle, and cracking it from the base yet to be cut or fragmenting it and removing the material. This process is repeated until the desired or prescribed depth of the boring is reached. Means to handle unexpected dissembly of equipment in the boring is handled with tie-lines to each component placed to dangle the part in an orientation that will allow removal of the part without disturbing the walls of the boring. Means to handle invading ground water includes cryogenically freezing the region of the boring from where the water is flowing, melting the ice in the center of the boring, applying mortar to displace the melted ice and settle in the crevasses of the rock, curing it, and then water jet cutting the boring through the mortar and on into the rock below. With a deep area of ground water penetration, this process must be repeated.

Abstract: A method for displaying a formation model while drilling a wellbore in the formation includes operating a well logging instrument at a measurement point in the formation along a wellbore while the wellbore is being drilled. Measurement data regarding the formation are obtained from the well logging instrument. An actual orientation of a geological structure is determined from the measurement data. A trajectory of the wellbore is displayed in three dimensions as it is being drilled through the formation. While drilling the wellbore, the geological structure is displayed along the trajectory of the wellbore according to the determined actual orientation of the geological structure. The actual orientation reflects an azimuth angle of planes corresponding to the geological structure. The trajectory of the wellbore is changed in response to displaying the determined actual orientation of the geological structure relative to the trajectory.

Abstract: A self-rescue system and a method for providing self-rescue to fall-victims suspended in fall-arresting safety harnesses following an accidental fall enables such suspended fall victims to descend to the ground or other place of safety at a controlled, safe velocity, without assistance from anyone else. In addition, the invention can also address applications in many types of elevated locations where a controlled descent is needed in order to escape emergency conditions.

Abstract: A ride-on, self-propelled vehicle having front caster wheels, such as a zero-turn mower, includes a front brake system. The actuating power for the front brake pass through a spindle supporting the front caster wheel. In a preferred embodiment, a center shaft of each spindle or a concentric outer ring of a sleeve of each spindle passes a force from a brake actuator to a brake for the respective caster wheel. Actuation of the brake actuator moves a member into frictional contact with a portion of the front wheel or an object attached to the front wheel to applying a braking force.

Abstract: An improved self-adjusting automatic slack adjuster for reducing slack in the brake of a vehicle, in which a one-way clutch assembly is arranged in the housing of the automatic slack adjuster housing such that a thin-wall region of the housing associated with the gear drive of the one-way clutch assembly is located outside of a load path through which brake applications forces are conveyed from a brake actuator to a brake cam shaft upon which the automatic slack adjuster is located. The new positioning of the one-way clutch assembly drive results in unexpectedly lower stress levels in the automatic slack adjuster, resulting a more durable slack adjuster and permitting surprisingly large increases in slack adjuster capacity rating.

Abstract: An improved self-adjusting automatic slack adjuster for reducing slack in the brake of a vehicle is provided, in which an easily accessible external operating feature permits the automatic slack adjuster's one-way clutch assembly to be readily disengaged to allow smooth release and retraction of the brake shoes of a vehicle brake without damage to the one-way teeth of the clutch assembly. When the external feature is operated in a brake release direction, the motion of the feature is translated into a motion which axially displaces an output part of the one-way clutch away from an input part of the clutch a distance sufficient to disengage the parts' one-way teeth, thereby disengaging the one-way clutch to permit brake shoe retraction without resistance from the one-way clutch.
