Publication number: 20100122791Abstract: A sand core is prepared for use in defining a surface of a cast metal article. The core is formed of sand particles bonded with a polyurethane resin, preferably a polyol moiety-containing polyurethane resin. An alkali metal hydroxide, and optionally a glycol, is mixed with precursors of the polyurethane before they are mixed with sand particles for molding and curing the core. The hydroxide and glycol may be encapsulated to prevent interference with core molding. The hydroxide and glycol is distributed in the polyurethane binder resin and used to reduce the decomposition temperature of the core binder during casting. This practice is particularly useful in removing core sand from castings of light metal, lower casting temperature metal alloys.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 14, 2008Publication date: May 20, 2010Applicant: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS, INC.Inventors: Thomas C. Publication number: 20100122833Abstract: Cable insulation layers having excellent mechanical and electrical properties are prepared from a composite free of plasticizer and comprising a heterogeneous, polymeric composition comprising (A) a polypropylene matrix, and (B) a propylene copolymer dispersed within the matrix and (i) comprising more than 80 weight percent (wt %) of units derived from propylene, and (ii) having a weight average particle size of less of than 1 micron (?m). The insulation layer is not only environmental friendly due to the lack of placticizer, but it also maintains its physical and operational integrity at temperatures of at least 90° C.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 5, 2009Publication date: May 20, 2010Inventors: Suh J. Publication number: 20100122834Abstract: A wire organization structure has two hollow wire holding ducts forms a wire running space thereinside. The wire running space has two ends formed a wire inlet and a wire outlet. A wire is provided with two ends threading through the wire inlet and wire outlet and movable for a displacement against the wire holding ducts. The two ends of the wire can be extended from the wire inlets towards the wire outlets for the displacement against the wire organization structure in a first use condition, and also are movable from the wire outlets towards the wire inlets and retained at the wire outlets in a second use condition. By threading the wire through two wire holding ducts, and pulling the wire to change the displacement against the wire organization structure, the length can be adjusted and use conditions can be altered. Wire organization and collection can be done faster.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 20, 2008Publication date: May 20, 2010Inventor: Shih-Hsing CHANG

Publication number: 20100122835Abstract: A wire protective member (10) is provided for covering a wire (11) from an outer side. The wire protective member (10) has a first base (13) includes a first adhesive layer (12) to be bonded to the wire (11) on one surface thereof, a second base (16) to be placed on a surface of the first base (13) opposite to the one including the first adhesive layer (12), and spacers (14) formed between the first and second bases (13, 16). No clearance is formed between the wire (11) and the protective member (10) to achieve a space saving. Further, since it is sufficient to wrap the wire (11) with one member composed of the first adhesive layer (12), the first base (13), the layer partly formed with the spacers (14) and the second base (16), time and effort for a mounting operation and the number of parts can be reduced.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 12, 2009Publication date: May 20, 2010Applicant: SUMITOMO WIRING SYSTEMS, LTD.Inventors: Masayuki Doi, Toshitsugu Morii, Arisa Imatoku
