  • Patent number: 7748372
Abstract: This invention is related to an adaptable tile-cutter apparatus for scoring and breaking disparately-sized tiles. The apparatus broadly includes: a pair of end castings removably; a rigid crossbeam and a travel rail spanning the pair of end castings; vertical-adjustment mechanisms mounted to the travel rail; one or more platform assemblies each coupled to the rigid crossbeam; and a cutting mechanism slidably engaged to the travel rail. The vertical-adjustment mechanisms individually adjust a height of the travel rail with respect to the pair of end castings. In addition, the rigid crossbeam and the travel rail comprise a first matched set, and are each removably coupled to the pair of end castings. Accordingly, a second matched set that includes another rigid crossbeam and another travel rail possessing lengths at variance with the rigid crossbeam and the travel rail of the first matched set may be interchanged therewith.

  • Patent number: 7748373
Abstract: An apparatus for machining an article (L) in the form of a slab or the like comprises—in addition to a rotary tool (24) associated with a spindle (22)—a nozzle (26) ejecting water at very high pressure. Both the rotary tool and the nozzle are supported by a carriage (20) sliding along a beam (18) in turn sliding along two shoulders (14) in a perpendicular direction. In the working area (12) and above a tank (30) normally filled with water, the article (L) is supported in a horizontal position not only by an interchangeable grid (32; 52), but preferably also by a disposable support (34) which prevent the rotary tool (24) from coming into contact with the grid. The disposable support is periodically replaced.

  • Patent number: 7748388
Abstract: It is disclosed that a long elevation time is obtained and the efficiency of resection can be improved by providing an endoscopic injectable preparation using high molecular weight hyaluronic acid having an average molecular weight of 1,500,000 to 3,000,000 or its salt. In treating early cancer or other neoplastic mucosal lesion, the lesion is resected with handling of an endoscope (“endoscopic mucosal resection”) instead of performing a major surgical operation such as laparotomy, thoracotomy or organ excision. In performing endoscopic mucosal resection, physiological saline, or a solution of low molecular weight hyaluronic acid or its salt is injected into a stratum below the site of lesion scheduled for resection to elevate the site of lesion, thereby increasing the efficiency of resection. To raise the efficiency of endoscopic mucosal resection, however, the development of an injectable preparation presenting a longer elevation time and requiring a low injection pressure has been desired.

  • Patent number: 7748410
Abstract: A first liquid fed into a first flow passage 6 of a fluid handling apparatus travels to the open end thereof on the side of a second flow passage 7 due to capillarity. The movement of the first liquid is uniformed on the cross section of the flow passage by the function of a capillarity promoting portion 220 or 230 of the bottom 21 of the first flow passage 6. Then, the movement of a second liquid fed into the second flow passage 7 is uniformed on the cross section of the flow passage by the function of the capillarity promoting portion 220 or 230 of the bottom 21 of the second flow passage 7. Thus, the movement of the front end of the second liquid is substantially uniformed to surely extrude gas from the second flow passage 7 to the outside via a fourth flow passage 10.

  • Patent number: 7748411
Abstract: The present invention is a plug system having a plug for insertion into a pipeline, wherein the plug system is insertable via a fitting attached to the pipeline. A pre-drilled aperture of the pipeline positioned normal to the cylindrically-shaped pipeline may interfere with a pig traveling through the pipeline. In one embodiment, the plug includes two coaxial cylindrical portions. A first cylindrical portion has a diameter greater than the aperture diameter, while the second cylindrical portion has a diameter less than the aperture diameter. Additionally the plug defines a hole that is oriented perpendicular to an axis of the cylindrical portions, wherein the diameter of the hole is approximately the size of inside diameter of the pipe. The plug has a retaining member to stabilize the plug system. When the plug is installed in the pipe it permit a pig to flow freely, thereby eliminating pigging hazards.

  • Patent number: 7748415
Abstract: A tightening apparatus for strapping an object with a plastic band includes a stationary cutter with a cutting slot, a pivoting cutter mounted inside the stationary cutter, and a resilient element. The resilient element is situated so as to push a cutting edge of the pivoting cutter away from a cutting edge of the stationary cutter when a cutting operation is not being performed. When a band is present between the pivoting and stationary cutters and the cutting operation is actuated, a pivoting force caused by an applied cutting force moves the pivoting cutter against the resilient element and engages the cutting edges of both cutters so as to cut the band. The fact that the cutting edges are engaged only when a band is inserted between the cutters greatly improves the life of the device.

  • Patent number: 7748419
Abstract: A dripless means for a fuel dispensing nozzle begins with a nozzle for dispensing fuel into automobile tanks. Regulations limit drainage of the spout to within ten seconds, met by the present invention that prevents fuel drops from exiting the spout. First, the spout retains fuel drops behind a dam made of a series of fins upon the interior of the spout. Second, the present invention has a bushing with a weir that works in combination with the damming. Third, the nozzle has a vent tube within the spout where a plug constricts its diameter to limit the fuel drawn into the vent tube. With proper use, the present invention retains fuel drops in the spout to meet the regulations.

  • Patent number: 7748420
Abstract: A dadoing system that can be set up to cut multiple dados in a workpiece. The dadoing system uses a sliding channel clamp to keep the workpiece from moving in a transverse direction, while the dados are being cut into the workpiece. The sliding guide rails are used to put downward pressure on a workpiece while guiding a router across the workpiece during the dadoing process. Once the system is set up to cut the dados in the desired locations on the workpiece, the sliding guide rail stops can be secured into place. The stops will insure that the sliding guide rails are set up in the same place thus allowing multiple workpieces to have matching dados that line up properly during assembly.
