Publication number: 20100170078Abstract: The invention relates to a vibrating rivet tool for pressing and fixing rivets in component holes in component of aircraft. The vibrating rivet tool comprises a rivet receptacle and a drive unit for producing a high static pressing force. According to the invention, the static pressing force is superimposed by a mechanical vibration, of which the amplitude acts substantially in the direction of a longitudinal axis of the rivet. As a result, the force necessary to press and fix the rivet in a component hole is reduced in such a way that the overall size and mass of the vibrating rivet tool according to the invention are smaller/lower in comparison with conventional rivet tools. Due to the small overall size and low weight, the vibrating rivet tool can more easily be integrated in automated riveting processes.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 15, 2008Publication date: July 8, 2010Inventor: Horst Kott

Publication number: 20100170111Abstract: An insole includes an upper foot contacting substrate and a lower substrate, wherein openings are provided in both the upper foot contacting substrate and the lower substrate. These openings are at least partially kept in alignment with each other to receive a flexible, shock absorbing unit therein. The insole according to the invention provides a good absorbance and at the same time improves the air flow inside the insole. Therefore, the moisture around the wearer's foot can easily escape, thus keeping foot dry.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 29, 2009Publication date: July 8, 2010Inventor: Hyman Kramer

Publication number: 20100170112Abstract: To summarize, the shoozit is an interchangeable and affordable shoe skin designed with the American consumer in mind. It can be made in a similar fashion, and with all the same materials as, any type of shoe. The primary difference between a shoozit and a shoe is that the shoozit is only the exterior of a shoe, the shoozit is then adhered to the shoe by coating it with a type of temporary adhesive made for fabric. The idea is to make it easy for the consumer to switch shoozits. It is designed to overlap the user's shoe and hence change its appearance.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 1, 2009Publication date: July 8, 2010Inventor: Eric Anthony Stephens

Publication number: 20100170113Abstract: A shoe construction enables a user to attach or interchange shoe components for improving function and or appearance of the shoe construction. The shoe construction comprises a base, a cover, a top attachable component, and two fasteners. The base comprises a series of fastener-receiving apertures. First fastening structure surrounds the fastener-receiving apertures. The cover comprises a second fastening structure matable with the first fastening structure. The top attachable component comprises component ends, each of which comprise an end aperture and a third fastening structure, which third fastening structure surrounds the end apertures. The fasteners fasten the component ends to the base member via the end apertures and fastener-receiving apertures. The cover covers the first fastening structure, the component ends, and the fasteners. The first, second, and third fastening structures function to prevent rotation of the component ends about axes extending through the fasteners.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 8, 2009Publication date: July 8, 2010Inventor: Sandra Garza

Publication number: 20100170114Abstract: According to one aspect, the shoe sole (10) comprises at least one main ground engagement section (22) specifically designed to respond to certain modes of solicitation by the foot of the player. Such section is provided with a sculpted pattern having recesses (102) and solid areas (100). The recesses and solid areas are distributed to minimize pressures or stress differences throughout the ground engagement section concerned so as to provide better adherence and lower wear by abrasion in response to such mode of solicitations. Preferably this arrangement is applied to more than one main ground engagement section (22, 24, 42, 44) in the shoe sole, each of which offers a specific response to a particular mode of solicitation by a player in action. According to a preferred embodiment the recesses are made of elongated cells opening (102) in a corresponding solid area through an elongated aperture (101) with rounded ends (108). The application of these principles to the production of a tennis shoe is described.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 4, 2008Publication date: July 8, 2010Applicants: Societe de Technologie Michelin, Michelin Recherche et Technique S.A.Inventors: Adam Jara, Arnaud Larregain, Frédéric Perrin

Publication number: 20100170116Abstract: The present invention generally relates to forced ventilation systems for various shoes. More particularly, the present invention relates to forced ventilation systems each including at least two air pumps disposed in preset areas of the shoes and capable of providing ventilation through the shoes during different steps of walking and running. Such ventilation systems typically includes at least one air pump in a shoe rear and at least another air pump in a shoe front such that the first pump provides the ventilation as an user presses the shoe rear area, while the second pump provides the ventilation as the user presses the shoe front, thereby maximizing the ventilation and minimizing a dead space in the shoe. The present invention also relates to various methods of operating such systems, disposing multiple air pumps thereof, and actuating such pumps. The present invention further relates to various processes for providing such systems, air pumps, and actuator units.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 6, 2009Publication date: July 8, 2010Inventor: Youngtack Shim

Publication number: 20100170117Abstract: The present invention is a disposable cushion inserts for shoes designed to temper forces imparted on a foot during activities such as walking and running. The cushion insert in one embodiment has first and second layers conjoined by a bonding method taken from the group of adhesive and ultrasonics. The first layer is constructed of fibrous material taken from the group of fiber crops and polymers that will be treated to have a low moisture content and absorbency with a plurality of air passages apertures passing between the second layer and the cushioned insert exterior. The second layer is manufactured from a cross-linked open cell silicone material having a plurality of conjoined truncated-apex square pyramids where the walls enclose a central cavity with open bottoms providing a structure that is mostly ambient air-filled space that when released from a compressed state returns to its original form.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 3, 2009Publication date: July 8, 2010Inventor: Eric Byeung Kim

Publication number: 20100170118Abstract: An excavator (1) includes an excavator main body (7), an apron (2) for the receipt of excavated material and a conveyor (3), the apron being located at or in proximity to the front of the main body, the conveyor extending from the apron to the rear of the main body. In use, the conveyor moves excavated material from the front to the rear of the main body, the excavator further includes an arm (11) having an attachment (5) for excavating material and moving the excavating material towards the apron (2). The excavator has a support associated with the front of the main body, the support being movable from a first position in which the support is in resilient contact with the ground to a second position in which there is substantially no contact between the support and the ground. The support includes one or both of the apron and conveyor.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 1, 2007Publication date: July 8, 2010Inventor: Gareth John THOMAS
