Abstract: In general, the present invention concerns preventing the movement of a door beyond a certain preset angle using a mechanism that is integrally formed in a door hinge. In embodiments, the invention includes a device comprises a standard hinge with the addition of a pair of stopping knuckles integrally formed on both sides of the hinge in an opposing position. The stopping knuckles do not wrap around the hinge pin like normal knuckles, instead they are formed to protrude out at a predetermined angle for a small length. This device is mounted like any normal hinge and when opened to the predetermined angle the stopping knuckles will abut against each other and stop the door from opening any further, thereby preventing any damage to the wall that might be struck by a portion of the door. This is important in that many door hinges will be allowed to rotate freely and frequently a part of the door will strike the structure that is located behind the door.

Abstract: A tool for removing a spindle and/or elastomeric bearing from a hub generally includes a coupler, an arm, and a weight slidably engaged with the arm. The weight is slidable with respect to the arm along a predetermined stroke that limits the travel of the weight. The coupler may be secured to a spindle, which spindle is in turn secured to a bearing, or the coupler may be secured directly to the bearing. An operator may slide the weight between a first position adjacent the coupler and a second position opposite the coupler to impart kinetic energy to the spindle and/or bearing, thereby removing the bearing from or the bearing installing into a hub, depending on whether the kinetic energy is in an inboard or outboard direction.

Abstract: An apparatus for splicing of optical waveguide sections is in the form of a handheld splicer. The splicer comprises a preprocessing unit, which may comprise a plurality of processing devices for carrying out removal, cleaning and cutting steps. The optical waveguide sections are clamped in a holding apparatus and are prepared in the preprocessing unit. The holding apparatuses are inserted with the prepared optical waveguide sections into a splicing unit, where they are spliced. The spliced optical waveguide sections can be fed by means of a transfer station to a shrinking oven for shrinking a shrink sleeve on. The preprocessing unit, the splicing unit and the shrinking oven can be controlled by means of one hand of an operator, while the splicer is held with the other hand.

Abstract: An expansion tool is provided for manipulating a snap ring, comprising a handle defining a longitudinal axis, and a shaft connected with the handle along the longitudinal axis. The shaft is connected with the handle along the longitudinal axis. The shaft defines a front planar face disposed in a substantially perpendicular orientation relative to the longitudinal axis. A wedge extends from the shaft to a tip, and includes a first surface in substantial alignment with an outer surface of the shaft and a second opposing planar surface disposed in a substantially perpendicular orientation relative to the front planar face. The wedge further includes opposing engagement surfaces that each taper from the front planar face to the tip at an angle in a range of approximately 2 to 5 degrees. The engagement surfaces are tapered in a configuration to engage and expand a gap of the snap ring.

In some designs, the wire coils are wave wound around the poles. Thick bar conductors can be used for making the wire coils. The wire coils may be inserted using nozzle dispensers or transferred from a pre-form mandrel. In other designs, the wire coils are pre-formed on transferable pockets that are then mounted on the poles. Optional pole extensions or shoes can be attached to the stator poles after the wire coils are formed around the poles.

The ultrasonic method for mounting a flip chip of the present invention may include a step for forming several bump electrodes (106) on the main surface of one side of a semiconductor chip (100) and a step for respectively bringing several projecting electrodes (106) into contact with the corresponding conductor patterns (132) on a substrate and for applying ultrasonic vibration to the semiconductor chip, where the ultrasonic vibration direction is oriented in a direction oblique to the electrode patterns (132). In this way, an effective width for joining formation W1 is greater than the width of the conductor patterns W of the electrode patterns (132).
