Abstract: A graphic data processing module includes a system interface for receiving image data streams, a shift register connected to the system interface, a timing generator connected to the system interface and the shift register, and a graphic display data random access memory (GDDRAM) connected to the shift register. The timing generator generates a clock signal and inputs the clock signal to the shift register, the shift register is controlled by the clock signal to receive image data streams in a first format from the system interface and convert the data of each pixel in the image data streams into data in a second format using fewer bits than the first format, and the data in the second format is transmitted to the GDDRAM.

Abstract: A scan-type display device control circuit is suitable for receiving successive frame data and driving a light-emitting diode (LED) display device accordingly. The scan-type display device control circuit includes a ping-pong buffer, a data storage controller, a line scan controller, a display buffer, and a scrambled pulse width modulation (PMW) signal generating device. The scan-type display device control circuit can utilize frame data circularly and repeatedly, so as to prevent a great mass of data from being transmitted repeatedly. Therefore, a band width for inputting data can be reduced significantly. Furthermore, the scrambled PMW signal generating device can scramble a PMW signal with a long period into a plurality of scrambled PMW signals with a short period. Therefore, the refresh rate can be efficiently enhanced without changing the band width for inputting data.

Multi-dimensional memory objects called “surfaces” stored in a user-specified data or pixel format and arranged in a graphics optimized layout are accessed by programs using surface instructions. A set of memory access instructions e.g., load, store, reduce, and atomic, referred to as surface instructions, may be used to access the surfaces. Coordinate bounds checking is performed with configurable clamping. Caching behavior may also be specified by the surface instructions. Data format conversion and packing to a specified storage format is supported for store, reduction, and atomic surface instructions. Abstract: For improving the drawback of brightness decay of a display due to aging, a memory can be used to store the usage time of each pixel of the display, then based upon the usage time the brightness decay of each pixel of the display can be compensated and accordingly the value for the compensation can be stored in a volatile memory and a non-volatile memory. However, the usage of the non-volatile memory is limited. Hence, the present invention discloses a new approach for storing the data so as to decrease write-in sequence per unit area for the non-volatile memory rather than increasing its storing capacity proportionally.

Abstract: A system and method for navigating pages of content on a target device is disclosed. The target device has a display area that is typically smaller than a page of content. Rather than having the user use scroll bars or finger gestures to view the entire page, a predetermined sequence of frames are displayed to the user. A frame is a preselected portion of a page. The user simply indicates when he has completed reading or viewing the current frame, and the next frame is then presented in the display area. This predetermined sequence is generated by the content provider or author, who uploads both the content and the frame sequence to a server, where it can be accessed by potential users.

Abstract: For improving the brightness decay of a display due to its aging, a non-volatile memory such as Flash can be used to store a brightness accumulation value of each point of the display, and each point can be compensated for its brightness accordingly. However, the non-volatile memory suffers from incorrect write-in data or temporary power disconnection, and thus the error will exist all the time to make the display non-even. Hence, the present invention uses a multiple data backups and CRC error detection, plus new/old data comparison to protect data the non-volatile memory from incorrect brightness compensation value so as to uniform the brightness of the display.

Abstract: This invention provides a display module, an electronic device using the same, and a display method thereof. The display module used in the electronic device is used for displaying a status of an electronic element of the electronic device. The display module includes a light guiding unit, a plurality of light emitting units, and a control unit. The light guiding unit has a light incident surface and a light output surface. The light emitting units are disposed adjacent to the light incident surface. The control unit is coupled with the light emitting units and selectively uses one of a plurality of current combinations to control the light emitting units. Light emitted from the light emitting units enters into the light guiding unit from the light incident surface and passes through the light output surface to present a continuous display effect.

One of N (N?3) colors including R (red), G (green) and B (blue) is assigned to each of the N pixels. Each of the N pixels includes a sampling transistor Ms, drive transistor Md, holding capacitor Cs and light-emitting element (organic light-emitting diode OLED). Of the N pixels, a specific color pixel that is susceptible to a dark dot (e.g., B) or that has the highest relative luminosity factor (e.g., G) has more sets of pixel circuit elements including the drive transistor Md, holding capacitor Cs and organic light-emitting diode OLED than other color pixels and has two or more sets thereof.
