Publication number: 20110168443Abstract: Deep drillholes of 2 or more meters diameter down to 14-20 km and more, are with current technology extremely expensive and often not possible. Such wells are needed to run almost anywhere old nuclear/coal powerstations cheaply by geothermal steam: Water/cool steam down and hot steam up. As by-product energy is CO2-free. Steel and rock can be cut by heat of any type: conductive, radiative and heat-transmission by contact. This principle is used in the steel industry by (translated from German) “burning-cutting machines”. In addition rock can be cut by heat-induced evaporation. A ring with radii and segments that carry one to hundreds heat-generating elements moves through the rock. This way, with fairly low energy-consumption, coring is done at a high speed at almost (any) diameter. Stafette-type core- and equipment transport ensures the speed of the drilling system.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 27, 2010Publication date: July 14, 2011Inventor: Peter Paul Smolka

Publication number: 20110168478Abstract: The present invention provides an interface apparatus for manipulating a wheelchair which is capable of controlling the translation/rotation of the wheelchair by means of a pair of sliding mechanisms. In addition, there is at least one physiological sensor being disposed on each sliding mechanism for detecting physiological status of a user sitting on the wheelchair so as to monitor the bio-status of the user via a closed bio-potential circuit. The pair of sliding mechanisms are disposed respectively on their corresponding arm rest of the wheelchair so that the user can manipulating the wheelchair by two hands grasping the corresponding sliding mechanism while the physiological sensor can detect the physiological status of the user. With the aforesaid apparatus and wheelchair, it not only can provide a directly operating way with human-factor concerns but can also monitor the physiological status of the user so as to improve the safety in manipulation.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 4, 2010Publication date: July 14, 2011Applicant: National Taiwan University of Science and TechnologyInventors: CHUNG-HSIEN KUO, Kuo-Wei Chiu, Yang-Hua Lin

Publication number: 20110168479Abstract: A lubricant composition, which is low in friction, does not have an attacking property against polyamide resin, etc., is excellent in heat resistance, and especially does not undergo deterioration or loss of the respective characteristics in a short term when used under a high temperature environment, is provided along with a speed reduction gear and an electric power steering apparatus that use the lubricant composition. The lubricant composition has blended therein a synthetic hydrocarbon oil, a urea thickener, zinc stearate, and a sulfur-based antioxidant. A speed reduction gear has a portion of engagement of a small gear and a large gear filled with the lubricant composition. In an electric power steering apparatus, an output of a steering assisting electric motor is speed reduced and transmitted to a steering mechanism via the speed reduction gear.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 14, 2009Publication date: July 14, 2011Applicants: JTEKT CORPORATION, KYODO YUSHI CO., LTD.Inventors: Ryuji Nakata, Miwa Hokii, Mitsuhiro Kakizaki, Daisuke Tsutsui
