Abstract: In an imaging method and a tomosynthesis apparatus, a two-dimensional low-energy image of the predetermined volume segment is obtained after administration of a contrast agent, followed by a two-dimensional high-energy image and then a high-energy tomosynthesis of the predetermined volume segment is obtained with a high total radiation dose that is significantly higher than the low radiation dose. The two-dimensional low-energy image is subtracted from the two-dimensional high-energy image to generate a result with which the concentration of the contrast agent is visible. Additionally, in a time interval in which an enrichment or a washing-out of the contrast agent occurs within the predetermined volume segment, a tomosynthesis of the predetermined volume segment is automatically implemented to show the concentration of the contrast agent in the predetermined volume segment.

Abstract: A system and method for including and correcting subject orientation data in a digital radiographic image. A subject is positioned in an X-ray imaging system and an orientation of the subject is entered into the X-ray imaging system. The subject is imaged with an X-ray exposure to create an X-ray image of the subject. An operator reviews the X-ray image of the subject and subject orientation data. If the subject orientation data is not correct, the operator may correct the subject orientation data so that it matches the subject's anatomy during the X-ray exposure. The correct subject orientation data is then saved and is part of the X-ray image and Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) header when sent to a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).

A phantom, capable of mimicking human breathing through inflation and deflation of the lungs, houses an independently moving target (tumor) that detects the amount of radiation received from the radiation therapy machine. This amount can be compared with a desired amount to determine if adjustment or repositioning is necessary. The servo-mechanism(s) of the motion tracking enabled radiation therapy machine(s) are adjusted in comparison of detected versus programmed motion of the respiring phantom having incorporated independently moving target that incorporated radiation dose detector(s). Abstract: In a manufacturing process of a second grid, an X-ray absorbing layer is formed on a top surface of a strip of X-ray transparent sheet during conveyance, and a buffer layer is formed on a rear surface thereof. After that, the X-ray transparent sheet is wound into a roll so as to expose the X-ray absorbing layer to outside. Thus, the X-ray transparent sheet and the X-ray absorbing layer are laminated with being bonded with the buffer layer. The roll of layer laminated structure is sliced in its radial direction into a layer laminated sheet, which has the buffer layer, the X-ray transparent sheet, and the X-ray absorbing layer laminated in layers. After polishing sliced surfaces of the layer laminated sheet, the layer laminated sheet is pressed by a pressing device, so the second grid is curved into an approximately cylindrical shape.

Abstract: The invention permits optimum choice of those parameters which form the basis for the generation of stereophonic or pseudo-stereophonic signals. The user is provided with means for stipulating the degree of correlation, the definition range, the loudness and also further parameters of the resulting signals according to psychoacoustic aspects, and hence for preventing artifacts. The invention can be used to define highly efficient encoders or decoders which confine audio signals intended for reproduction by two or more than two loudspeakers as a mono signal plus a few parameters. Specific areas of application are telecommunications (hands-free devices), global networks, computer systems, broadcasting and transmission devices, particularly satellite transmission devices, professional audio technology, television, film and broadcasting and also electronic consumer goods.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method of determining microphone polarity in a headset. By being able to detect the polarity of the microphone within the headset, a portable electronic device may be compatible with any headset and is not limited to use with a specific headset. By applying a detection signal over one of lines within a headset cable, a return signal may be sensed on one of the other lines to determine which of the lines is the ground line and which line is the microphone line.

Abstract: An audio processing apparatus generates a suppression coefficient sequence that is composed of coefficient values corresponding to frequency components of an audio signal, the frequency components being multiplied by the corresponding coefficient values to suppress noise components of the audio signal. In the audio processing apparatus, a characteristic value calculation unit calculates a noise characteristic value depending on a shape of a magnitude distribution of the audio signal. An intensity setting unit variably sets a suppression intensity of the noise components based on the noise characteristic value. A coefficient sequence generation unit generates the suppression coefficient sequence based on the audio signal and the suppression intensity.
