Abstract: Exemplary embodiments provide a container that is collapsible. When collapsed, the space taken up by the container is less than its original size. The container may be expanded from the collapsed state. When expanded, the container may be used to transport and/or store various items, such as food and liquid goods. The container may be expanded to one or more intermediate states that are less than the fully expanded state. The container may consist of a number of sections and may be available in various sizes. The container may have a lid and a handle. According to exemplary embodiments, the container may operate as a cooler and may have insulative properties.

Abstract: Provided are a collapsible cup and a lid for sealing such cups. A collapsible cup includes a top cylindrical portion having a collapsible part and a sealing edge. The cup also includes a rigid bottom portion attached to the collapsible part and configured to move in and out with respect to the sealing edge by folding the collapsible part. The level of folding of the collapsible part determines different positions of the top portion, such as upper operating position corresponding to the maximum cup height, an intermediate operating position corresponding to an intermediate cup height, and a lower collapsed position corresponding to the minimum cup height. In the lower collapse position, the bottom portion may be substantially enclosed by the top cylindrical portion. The collapsible cup may include a reinforcement insert disposed within the top portion and used for engaging with a lid and providing support to the sealing edge.

Abstract: The invention relates to a cartridge (1) for insertion into a receptacle of a motor vehicle handling facility having an interior chamber (2) which receives a liquid or pasty medium, an outlet (7), that can be opened so that the cartridge (1) can be used, and a data carrier (8) set up for touch-free electromagnetic signal transmission and positioned at a distance (5) to the interior chamber (2) of the cartridge (1) that is greater than a wall-thickness of the cartridge (1). Conventional cartridges of this kind are not sufficiently secure against confusion and resistant to outside influences. The cartridge (1) cannot be confused, is reliable, space saving and resistant to outside influences, especially when in motor vehicle handling facilities.

Abstract: One example embodiment includes a cover plate for an electrical receptacle. The cover plate includes a first conducting strip. The first conducting strip protrudes rearward from the cover plate and is configured to contact a first terminal of a receptacle, where the first terminal connects the receptacle to a power source. The cover plate also includes a first insulating means, where the first insulating means prevents the first conducting strip from contacting other conducting materials. The cover plate further includes a second conducting strip. The second conducting strip protrudes rearward from the cover plate and is configured to contact a second terminal of the receptacle, where the second terminal completes the connection of the receptacle to the power source. The cover plate additionally includes a second insulating means, where the second insulating means prevents the second conducting strip from contacting other conducting materials. The cover plate also includes a load.

Abstract: The present invention relates to containers for drinks such as water, beverage, and the like with non-removable closures, and more particularly to drink containers with non-removable closures that allow the user to open the containers without completely removing the closure from the containers. According to one embodiment of the present invention the drink container has a non-removable closure that is provided with a rotating disk on top of the receiving member to open or close the orifice on the receiving member on top of the drink bottle. When the rotating disk member's hole aligns with the receiving member's hole, a channel is formed for drink to leave from the bottle. When the holes are not aligned, the drink is blocked by the body of the rotating member.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a composite closure, including an outer closure cap and an inner sealing liner, comprises providing a closure cap having an annular skirt portion including an annular lip that defines an annular recess adjacent a top wall portion of the cap. Molten plastic is compression molded within the closure cap to form the inner sealing liner adjacent the top wall portion, with the periphery of the sealing liner positioned within the annular recess of the closure cap. A plurality of circumferentially spaced gussets are provided within the annular recess for controlling the flow of the molten plastic during liner formation, thereby facilitating the venting of air to abate formation of voids in the sealing liner.

Abstract: A cart including a container that defines an interior space. The cart also includes a cover that is movable between an open position providing access to the interior space and a closed position inhibiting access to the interior space, and a latch that is located between the container and the cover to releasably hold the cover in the closed position. The cart further includes a hands-free mechanism that is coupled to the container and engaged with the cover to move the cover between the open position and the closed position. The hands-free mechanism is further coupled to the latch and operable to disengage the latch to permit movement of the cover to the open position.

Abstract: Heat-sealable seal including a support bonded to an inner seal by a temporary adhesive is provided. The inner seal has a pull-tab which is folded back once on the surface of the inner seal in contact with the corresponding surface of the support. The inner seal includes a laminate having a reinforcing layer and a sheet of a conducting material, to the lower surface of which is applied a heat-sealing film. The temporary adhesive is applied to the whole surface of the inner seal once the pull-tab is folded back. The seal is characterized in that the laminate has over its entire thickness a notch from which the pull-tab emerges, and a fold line formed by the pull-tab once the pull-tab is folded back, the fold line having a shorter length than the length of the notch. Methods of producing the seal are also disclosed.

Abstract: A process of hard anodizing or Type III anodizing an aluminum article creates a heat stable, hard anodized, color surface on the exterior of the article. The process includes anodizing the aluminum article to achieve a hard anodized base layer on a surface of the article. A copper layer is deposited after the exterior is hard anodized. A tin layer is deposited after the step of depositing the copper layer.

The raised portions are arranged in a manner to encourage their use, such as placing them where the consumer will grasp the container.

A figure is retained inside the second chamber, the figure having a pair of arms that are normally positioned adjacent the opening in the dividing wall to receive an article that is transferred from the first chamber via the opening in the dividing wall. The carriage includes a plurality of compartments horizontally disposed above an optional funnel and rotatable about a central axis. A hopper is disposed above the carriage and communicates with less than all compartments. Each compartment is capable of separately dispensing a powder from the hopper through the opening into the funnel and thereafter into the container resting on the base. The tower is disposed between and attached at opposing ends to the base and the dispenser. The apparatus is useful, for example, in preparing baby formula and other food for infants, as well as in preparing food and drink for children and adults.

Abstract: A product dispensing system includes a locking mechanism to prevent actuation of the system absent an authorized product refill unit. More specifically, the dispensing system includes a housing and an actuator slidably secured within the housing and including at least one locking post extending therefrom. The actuator is adapted to actuate a pump to cause dispensing of a product. A release ring is rotatably secured within the housing and includes at least one locking post extending therefrom and aligned with the locking post of the actuator. The release ring also includes at least one ramped surface. The locking posts of the actuator and release ring engage one another in a locked position to prevent actuation of the dispensing system, and the release ring is adapted to be rotated to an unlocked position upon insertion of an authorized refill unit.

Abstract: The article tray and carrier is adapted for the single-handed carriage of a case of goods, e.g., bottled water, canned goods, bottled or canned soda or beer, etc. The carrier has a rigid plastic floor with a low peripheral retaining wall, with the floor and wall covered by a heavy gauge fabric. A series of soft plastic or rubber strips having a high coefficient of friction are molded to the fabric covering the floor, to reduce slippage of an article carried thereon. An elongate handle loop extends from each side of the device, with the loops having sufficient length to meet above the carrier to allow the carrier and any goods therein to be carried from one hand. A handle connecting flap extends from the center of one handle loop, and may be wrapped and secured about the center of the opposite handle loop to secure the two loops together.

The shackle is adapted to be releasably secured to the lock mechanism, and engages the valuable on the roof rack. The lock mechanism is electrically connected with a vehicle locking system for locking and unlocking a vehicle door, whereby locking the vehicle door places the lock mechanism in the locked state and unlocking the vehicle door places the lock mechanism in the unlocked state.

The clincher mechanism includes a base, a clincher resiliently supported on the base such that the clincher is biased toward the driver mechanism, and a clincher guide having a guide portion configured to guide a movement of the clincher. The guide portion has an inner peripheral surface that forms a through hole extending through the clincher guide and surrounds an outer periphery of the clincher. The inner peripheral surface has recessed surface portions extending from a surface of the clincher guide facing the driver mechanism, such that a gap is provided between the clincher and the recessed surface portions. Abstract: An instrument is configured to receive a staple cartridge to staple tissue and expel a fluid from within a container in the staple cartridge. The staple cartridge has an upper deck including staple apertures and orifices formed therein. The orifices are in fluid communication with the containers. The staple cartridge includes staple drivers having a driver body to translate a staple and a container protrusion to expel the fluid out the orifices. The fluid may be expelled while driving the staples out through the staple apertures. The container may be vertically compressible container or, in one alternative, may be a container having a channel and a sealant that is configured to be pierced as the fluid is expelled. Some configurations for the fluid include a hemostatic agent, thrombin, a gel, or a medicament. The containers may also be formed as reservoirs defined within the upper deck and/or cartridge body.

Abstract: An articulation mechanism for use with a surgical instrument includes a shaft, a first member disposed in mechanical cooperation with the articulation shaft, a second member disposed in mechanical cooperation with the shaft, and a flexible shaft having proximal and distal portions. The flexible member is operatively coupled to the first and second members. Upon rotation of the articulation shaft, at least one of the first and the second members moves longitudinally with respect to the other of the first and second members between a first position where the first and second members are approximated to each other and a second position where the first and second members are spaced apart from each other. This longitudinal motion causes the distal portion of the flexible member to articulate relative to the proximal portion.

Abstract: A surgical instrument comprises a first elongated member and a second elongated member, the first elongated member and the second elongated member being operatively connected and configured to rotate in opposite directions to substantially limit counter torque. The first and second elongated members are flexible shafts. The surgical instrument can be configured to apply fasteners to a tissue portion. This embodiment of the surgical instrument includes a cartridge having a plurality of fasteners, an anvil, said anvil and cartridge being relatively movable between spaced and approximated positions, and a sled disposed in the cartridge. The sled includes a cam member. The cam member is designed to drive the fasteners through tissue and toward the anvil.

Abstract: A friction stir welding repairing method for repairing a defective welding area, in which the defective welding area is defined in a predetermined welding area of a metallic housing, is described as follows. A repairing welding tool has a main portion and a stir end extending from an end of the main portion, and a diameter of the stir end is larger than a diameter of the defective welding area. The repairing welding tool is rotated and inserted to a region of the predetermined welding area adjacent to the defective welding area. The repairing welding tool is rotated and moved across the defective welding area. The repairing welding tool is pulled out of the predetermined welding area, and then the defective welding area is cooled.

Abstract: A solder return apparatus for a wave solder machine that collects solder exiting a nozzle and returns the solder to a solder reservoir while limiting the degree to which the solder can splash onto electronic substrates (e.g., printed circuit boards), components of the wave solder machine, and/or the like. The apparatus includes a mounting section that may be placed over an upper surface of the nozzle and a collection section that collects the solder and returns the solder to the solder reservoir. The collection section includes a trough having an opening in a bottom wall of the trough and a flow control member that can adjust a quantity of solder exiting the trough as well as the velocity of the solder exiting the trough. One or more deflection plates can be mounted so as to extend from the trough into solder in the solder reservoir to further contain the solder and limit the degree to which splashing solder can reach unintended locations.

The lid is folded along an angled score line, rotating the tab with respect to the slot so that an end of the tab engages the slot and the front panel at an end of the slot engages the notch. The lid is folded to rotate the tab in the opposite direction; the tab then engages with the slot, the end of the tab extending beyond the slot.

In one embodiment a first portion, or sensor pod, encloses EAS elements and a second portion, or retention pod, contains a retention mechanism. In one embodiment, the retention pod and sensor pod are connected by a swivel joint. In one embodiment the retention pod encloses a ball clutch. An aperture in the retention pod gives access to an aperture in the ball clutch. A shaft on an attaching element inserts into the clutch to attach the tag to an object. In one embodiment, the attaching element is a lanyard having one end terminating in a shaft and the other end terminating in a connector for forming a loop in the lanyard. Other attaching elements may be used.
