Abstract: Systems and methods are described for a compact x-ray system that uses optical energy for triggering x-ray generation rather than a traditional filament. A photocathode is illuminated and the ensuing electrons are directed to an anode resulting in x-ray generation, resulting in increased x-ray source durability. Pulsing, beam forming, scanning, varying x-ray characteristics, longevity of source and other desirable attributes not currently available in the state of the art are achievable, through the use of shaped, multi-materialed photocathodes, shaped, multi-materialed anodes, arrays of optical lines, and so forth, as some examples. Inexpensive, highly controllable sources such as solid-state lasers can be used, permitting a wide variety of applications and power levels.

Abstract: It is an object of this invention to implement a predicate encryption scheme with delegation capability. A cryptographic process is performed using dual vector spaces (dual distortion vector spaces) of a space V and a space V* paired through a pairing operation. An encryption device generates as a cipher vector a vector of the space V, the cipher vector being a vector in which transmission information is embedded. Using a predetermined vector of the space V* as a key vector, a decryption device performs the pairing operation on the cipher vector generated by the encryption device and the key vector to decrypt the cipher vector and to extract information concerning the transmission information. In particular, the encryption device and the decryption device perform the cryptographic process without using some dimensions of the space V and the space V*.

The connector allows a microphone to be added to a device, such as a mobile telephone, without the need for an additional external aperture. The microphone in the connector may operate with a second microphone and processing electronics in the device to provide audio processing functions such as noise cancellation or audio beamforming.

Abstract: To provide a speaker device that can form a substantially uniform sound field over a range from a long distance to a short distance without significantly increasing a calculation load. A plurality of FIR filters 21 to 2n perform delay control of respective speakers so as to increase a delay time difference between adjacent speakers 51 to 5n in a line array speaker 5 toward one end of the line array speaker 5, and thereby over a wide range from a long distance to a short distance, a sound filed 12 is formed. Also, by adding a common shift delay time Dc to filter coefficients for the FIR filters 21 to 2n, the delay time difference between adjacent speakers 51 to 5n is made less than a sampling period of a sound signal to form a wide and uniform sound field 12.
