Abstract: This invention relates to a pressure related ulcer and perineal dermatitis prevention and treatment device and method of use. The device may be used in conjunction with a urine collection and disposal system that would be beneficial for incontinent users. In use the device forms an automatic pressure controlled topical hyperbaric oxygen chamber and further incorporates a flexible inflated tube system that is controlled by a microprocessor to relief pressure on affected areas of a user's body and provide circulation stimulating therapeutic massage. When used by incontinent persons the device automatically removes expressed urine to minimize additional risk factors known to cause or exacerbate pressure related ulcers and perineal dermatitis.

Abstract: A system performs a method for removing air bubbles from a proximity head. The system pumps a fluid into a delivery passage in the proximity head that includes, input channels, a plenum, output channels, a return passage, and return channels. The fluid flows from the delivery passage through the input channels into the plenum. Each of the input channels has an inverted V-shaped opening into the plenum to urge any air bubbles in the plenum to flow upwards through the inverted V-shaped opening. The fluid flows from the plenum through the output channels onto a substrate. The system creates suction in the return passage which is connected to the return channels. The return channels suction the fluid from the substrate. A connecting passage connects the delivery passage and the return passage, allowing air bubbles to escape from the delivery passage into the return passage.

The concentrated photovoltaic solar system also includes a secondary optical element 2 with a circular intake face (3) and convex curvature, a section to accommodate a rim (4), and a pyramid section (6), the transverse section changing from a circle into a square in the lower end (7) where the photovoltaic receiver is housed. This system improves optical and thermodynamic efficiency of existing systems, facilitates the production and installation in the photovoltaic module, and reduces manufacturing-related costs.

Abstract: A split control unit in a distributed flow unit includes a flow inlet configured to receive a fuel flow, a first manifold having flow lines to supply fuel to one or more primary nozzles, and a second manifold having flow lines to supply fuel to one or more secondary nozzles. In an embodiment, the second manifold is in fluid communication with the flow inlet. A metering valve has a first port in fluid communication with the flow inlet and with the second manifold. The metering valve is configured to supply a metered fuel flow to the first manifold. A flow passage is in fluid communication with, and runs between, a flow line of the first manifold and a flow line of the second manifold to allow for a continuous cooling flow in the second manifold when all of the one or more secondary nozzles are closed.

Abstract: An inlet arrangement is disclosed herein for use with a supersonic jet engine configured to consume air at a predetermined mass flow rate when the supersonic jet engine is operating at a predetermined power setting and moving at a predetermined Mach speed. The air inlet arrangement includes, but is not limited to, a cowl having a cowl lip and a center body coaxially aligned with the cowl. A protruding portion of the center body extends upstream of the cowl lip for a length greater than a conventional spike length. The protruding portion is configured to divert air flowing over the protruding portion out of a pathway of an inlet to the supersonic jet engine such that a remaining airflow approaching and entering the inlet matches the predetermined mass flow rate.

Abstract: Integrated flow control backflow preventer valve (“IFCBPV”) for new and existing wet- and dry-barrel fire hydrants, with barrel drain assemblies for dry-barrel hydrants, and hydrants equipped with such IFCBPVs, are presented. An exemplary IFCBPV can have a retaining screen comprising equidistant concave radial spokes intersecting at a central ring structure, a freely suspended check ball, and a lower ball seat with a seal. The upper surface of the retaining screen can be affixed to the hydrant's axial shaft, and can thus be used to open and close the hydrant via the ball. Alternatively, the retaining screen can be fixed and the axial shaft provided with a cup on its bottom that mates with the freely suspended ball that is caged between the retaining screen and the ball seat. An exemplary barrel drain assembly can comprise a spring-loaded piston, or alternatively, a check ball design as in the main barrel.
