  • Patent number: 8393893
Abstract: In order to provide a rotary-furnace burner in which the quantity fraction of cost-effective particulate secondary fuels to be used as energy carriers can be increased and the configuration of the burner flame can be influenced, even during the operation of the burner, it is proposed, according to the invention, to arrange an expansion chamber open towards the burner mouth and having a widened cross section, as compared with the tube or individual tubes in the burner in front of the issue of the tube or tubes for blowing out the secondary fuels, and to make the axial length and the volume of the expansion chamber variable, during the operation of the burner, by means of the axial displacement of the secondary-fuel tubes, so that the particulate secondary fuel particles blown out at the burner mouth with a considerably reduced velocity do not fly past the burner flame, but, instead, burn out in the flame.

  • Patent number: 8393897
Abstract: In a method for closing a diastema and/or papilla regeneration between a first tooth and a second tooth, a dental matrix is used. The dental matrix includes a curved sectional strip of material. The strip has a length from a first end to a second end sufficient to create a form for molding a restorative material to a surface of the first tooth. The strip has a root end section and a second section integral with the root end section. The root end section of the strip is anatomic in shape such that the root end section hugs the gingival portion of the first tooth. In one form, a non-anatomic bulge is formed in the second section. The root end section of the matrix can slide to the depth of the sulcus without lacerating the tissue. After inserting the root end section of the dental matrix into the sulcus between the papilla and the gingival portion of the first tooth, a composite restorative material is placed between the dental matrix and a cervical surface of the first tooth.

Abstract: A game device issues a notification that the player is prompted to input a voice. After the notification is issued, voice data representing a voice signal, having a predetermined time length, which is inputted to a voice input element, is repeatedly acquired. Furthermore, each time the voice data is acquired, it is determined whether or not the acquired voice data satisfies a predetermined selecting condition. Thereafter, only voice data, which is determined to satisfy the selecting condition, is stored as selected voice data. The game device outputs, when a game image showing a game character speaking is displayed on the display, a sound effect representing a voice of the game character by using at least a portion of the selected voice data.

Abstract: A game system includes a game apparatus and a controller, and the controller is furnished with an acceleration sensor. For example, a player performs a boxing game according to an acceleration input by throwing a hook or straight punch while holding the controller. When it is determined that an acceleration input is started, it is assumed that the kind is a straight although the kind of the input has not been identified yet, and a drawing of a glove object moving along a path of a straight is started. When it is determined that the kind is a hook on the basis of the acceleration acquired thereafter, the glove object moving along a hook path is drawn.

Abstract: Improved miniaturized interconnect connector apparatus and methods for their manufacture. These miniaturized interconnect connectors minimize overall size, while at the same time offering acceptable and even improved electrical performance over prior art interconnect connector designs. In one exemplary embodiment, the interconnect connector comprises a plug and corresponding receptacle manufactured from a laser direct structuring (LDS) polymer material. In another embodiment, the interconnect connector comprises a composite structure which takes advantages of the properties of multiple selected materials. In yet another embodiment of the invention, precisely plated polymers such as the aforementioned LDS polymer are utilized in conjunction with known technologies such as flexible printed circuits (FPC) to produce miniaturized interconnect connectors.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a system to interface with a game console to control a video game is disclosed. The system includes a game console and a base station that is interfaced with the game console. The base station has processing circuitry that is configured to send and receive data between the base station and the game console. The base station is also configured to process position data. The system also includes a controller that is interfaced with the base station. The controller has hardware to process movement data of the controller and communicate the movement data to the base station. The base station processes the position data of the controller, and relays the position data from the base station to the game console to determine a relative position of the controller to the base station. Wherein changes in the relative position of the controller facilitate interactive control with the video game.
