Abstract: The invention relates to an actuator of an electrohydraulic gas exchange valve drive of an internal combustion engine, comprising an actuator housing (4), which can be fixed in the internal combustion engine and which comprises a bore (9); a valve play compensation element (8) which is received in said bore in an axially movable manner and which comprises a compensating housing (12) for actuating the gas exchange valve (1); and an axial stop which limits the extending movement of the compensation housing out of the bore (9) and which comprises stopes (14, 15) that overlap each other radially. The stop (14) on the compensation housing-side is a collar of a sleeve (18) that surrounds the outer casing of the compensation housing said collar extending outwards in a radial manner.

Abstract: Apparatus for providing fugitive gases diluted with air as a primary or supplementary fuel for an engine. Piping conveys the diluted fugitive gases to the engine through a control valve which measure the gas flow. An air inlet to the engine contains an air filter and a vent allows the exit of the gases to atmosphere before the gases pass through the control valve. The gas flow to the engine is at a predetermined flow rate to the air inlet downstream of the air filter.

Abstract: Described embodiments include an aftermarket solenoid for a starting system of a vehicle. The solenoid includes a relay. The solenoid also includes an insulating cap with first and second control terminals, and first and second starter circuit terminals protruding through the cap. A control voltage between the first and second control terminals determines the resistance between the first and second starter circuit terminals, essentially creating a short between the starter circuit terminals in response to energizing the relay. Each of the terminals may he a threaded stud. The cap, the first control terminal, the second control terminal, the first starter circuit terminal, and the second starter circuit terminals are arranged so that the solenoid is pluggable into an original manufacturer wiring harness of the vehicle, avoiding the need for makeshift adjustments and modifications of various connections and/or of the original wiring harness of the vehicle.

Abstract: There is provided a mounting structure for a battery and a fuel tank of a gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle. The mounting structure allows the battery to be disposed on one side of a propeller shaft, and the fuel tank to be disposed on the other side of the propeller shaft. The propeller shaft is disposed in the center of the vehicle and below the bearing surface of the rear seat, under the floor of the vehicle body so as to substantially extend in the fore-aft direction of the vehicle.

Abstract: A system for a vehicle includes a mode control module and a valve control module. The mode control module selectively sets an ignition mode for an engine to one of a spark ignition (SI) mode and a homogenous charge compression ignition (HCCI) mode. In response to the ignition mode transitioning from the SI mode to the HCCI mode during a first engine cycle, the valve control module operates an exhaust valve in a high lift mode during a second engine cycle, operates an intake valve in a low lift mode during the second engine cycle, and operates the exhaust and intake valves in the low lift mode during a third engine cycle. The first engine cycle is before the second engine cycle, and the second engine cycle is before the third engine cycle.

Abstract: A hybrid vehicle includes: an internal combustion engine having an in-cylinder injection valve directly injecting fuel into a combustion chamber and a port injection valve injecting fuel into an intake port; and a motor generator, and causes a torque equal to a user required torque to act on a drive shaft by controlling output torques of the engine and motor generator. When a misfire is not detected, the hybrid vehicle operates the engine at an engine operation point at which an engine power satisfies an engine required power in a first engine operation line. When a misfire is detected, the hybrid vehicle operates the engine at an engine operation point at which the engine power satisfies the engine required power in a second engine operation line, causes one of the injection valves to inject an entire amount of fuel, and determines which one is abnormal.

Abstract: In a fuel supply system, at least one of a first negative pressure P1 and a second negative pressure P2 is adjusted such that a width of a negative pressure range [P1, P2] of a condenser in a second state, that is, the difference P2?P1 of the first and second negative pressure, becomes smaller as a concentration C2 of high-octane number component of a raw fuel F0 is lower. A term until the internal atmospheric pressure P of the condenser 30 rises from the first negative pressure P1 to the second negative pressure P2 in a negative pressure control processing, that is, the term which the second state is maintained, is shortened. Therefore, the number of times the negative pressure control process is repeated is increased, thus the increase of an accumulated recovery amount of the first fuel F1 with high concentration of high-octane number component is attained.
