Abstract: Systems and methods allow detection and location of die coolant leaks while a die is in a die cast machine and at operating temperature. The testing can be performed during normal down time of the die casting assembly and repeated as desired. Cooling circuits of the die can be tested in zones where zones are sorted to identify particular cooling circuits as having leaks as necessary. Valving, leak sensors, air decay units, and added machine control are provided in the die cooling system to enable onboard leak testing of the die while installed in the die casting machine.

Abstract: A fluid leak detection system is provided, and includes a fluid conduit, a fluid-cooled device having an inlet and an outlet, an inlet flow meter, an outlet flow meter, and a controller. The inlet flow meter and inlet flow meters are fluidly connected to the fluid conduit. The inlet flow meter monitors the inlet of the fluid-cooled device for an inlet temperature and an inlet flow rate. The inlet and outlet flow meters each have flow meter drift versus process fluid temperature curves as well as drift versus ambient temperature curves, wherein the curves for the inlet flow meter differ from the outlet flow meter. The outlet flow meter monitors the outlet of the fluid-cooled device for an outlet temperature and an outlet flow rate. The controller is in communication with the inlet flow meter and the outlet flow meter.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for detecting leakages in a system for conducting a medical fluid upstream a shut-off device of the system as well as systems related thereto. More specifically, the method is used with systems having a section conducting the medical fluid, the section being arranged upstream the shut-off device, which is configured to interrupt or reduce an escaping or outflow of the fluid out of the section into an area downstream the shut-off device. The system for use with the present method further has at least one conveying device for conveying the fluid through the section. The present invention further relates to a digital storage medium, a computer program product and a computer program for performing the method for detecting leakages.

Abstract: The present invention provides a hardness tester capable of accurately detecting a point where an indenter contacts a sample in instrumented indentation testing. Prior to beginning measurement, the hardness tester defines an expected range for a value for a displacement, speed, or acceleration of an indenter during a process of approaching a sample. After measurement has begun, the hardness tester measures the value for the displacement, speed, or acceleration of the indenter during the process of approaching the sample. When the measured value is not within the expected range, the hardness tester determines that detection of a zero point has failed.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for high voltage discharge testing of a tire is disclosed. In particular embodiments, a high voltage probe is maintained against the surface of a tire. The high voltage probe is energized and relative motion is provided between the surface of the tire and the high voltage probe. At the presence of an anomaly that penetrates the insulating material of the tire surface, an electrical discharge will occur between the conductive spring electrode and a reference electrode. The reference electrode is positioned adjacent the bead portion of the tire such that the electrical discharge will travel from the high voltage probe through the anomaly in the surface of the tire to one or more carcass plies in the tire. The carcass plies will carry the electrical discharge to the bead portion of the tire, where the electrical discharge will pass to the reference electrode.

Abstract: An imbalance correction method for correcting the imbalance of a rotor measures the vibration state of the rotor before temporary correction and the vibration state of the rotor after the temporary correction in a plurality of rotational speeds in order to make vibration values below the standard. An aggregation range of the tips of correction vectors for obtaining a vibration value which satisfies a vibration standard is calculated from vibration vectors in the rotational speeds. A real correction vector is selected from correction vectors having the tips in a region in which the aggregation ranges calculated for each of the rotational speeds overlap one another among a plurality of the correction vectors. A real correction amount and a real correction phase are set based on the real correction vector. The imbalance of the rotor is corrected based on the real correction amount and the real correction phase.
