Abstract: An optical ferrule assembly is disclosed. The optical ferrule assembly comprises a ferrule body, a notch part, a retainer and an annular member. The ferrule body includes an optical fiber loading hole extending therethough in a longitudinal direction. The notch part is formed in the ferrule body and has a flat surface which receives the optical fiber loading hole. The retainer is arranged in the notch part and has a lower abutting surface opposing to the flat surface and an inclined abutting surface formed on one end side of the lower abutting surface. The annular member fits on an outer periphery of the ferrule body. When the annular member is brought into contact with a portion of an outer peripheral surface of the retainer on one end side thereof, the inclined abutting surface is opposed to the flat surface, and the lower abutting surface is inclined to the flat surface and separated from the flat surface.

  • Patent number: 8500352
Abstract: The present invention is a mechanically operating device used for packaging and applying a product. A molded product traverses through a barrel as an actuator sleeve is rotated. The actuator sleeve rotates an actuator, propelling a driver through the barrel. The driver is keyed into the barrel using a clutch washer—the clutch washer prevents the rotation of the driver. Mechanical actuating splines on the actuator engage the threads of the driver. The forward motion of the driver transversely pushes a cup out from an orifice of the barrel. The molded product is fitted within the cup. A cap is hermetically sealed to a barrel to create dynamic vapor chamber that prevents any contamination or alteration of the molded product. Primary and secondary seals between the barrel and the cap as well as between the cup and the barrel maintain the airtight feature of the dynamic vapor chamber.

  • Patent number: 8500358
Abstract: A quick disconnect system including a matable coupling and post. The coupling includes a base, a pair of pins, a jacket and a biasing means. The base defines a longitudinally extending bore. The pair of pins are radially repositionable relative to the bore and extend tangentially along opposite sides of the bore. The jacket cooperatively engages the base and the pins whereby longitudinal repositioning of the jacket as between a first stop position and a second stop position effects radial repositioning of the pins. The biasing means biases the jacket towards the first stop position. The post has a flanged head on the distal end of a shaft for cooperatively engaging the pins to achieve connection of the coupling and the post.

  • Patent number: 8500365
Abstract: Among all natural disasters, flood is the most frequent and devastating. It can be caused by variety of natural and man-made reasons at any time. Therefore, there is a need for permanent protection of commercial and residential buildings, and infrastructures, against flood. Typical permanent flood protection constructions, e.g., levees, embankments and concrete dams, cannot be used for this purpose because they are expensive and inconvenient for protection of a specific building. Once installed, they permanently block access to the area being protected. The claimed invention is aimed at solving this problem. It offers a reliable flood protection system that is 1) concealed, i.e., appears only when water is present and invisible otherwise, 2) adaptive, i.e., adjusts its height to match the approaching water level, 3) autonomous, i.e., does not require any human actions to enable the protection, and 4) can operate without any power source, such as electricity.

Abstract: A backhoe loader 10 with a controller 100 that uses angular signals from at least one sensor to calculate a loader tool angle with respect to the vehicle frame 12 or with respect to the earth and to maintain the loader tool angle via controller generated commands to a tool actuator 61 as a function of the angular signals and commands to a boom actuator 50. The controller 100 enables proportional control of the tool angle via a command input device such as an electronic joystick 21. If the electronic joystick 21 is moved to an appropriate detent position, the controller executes a return to carry function. If the boom 31 is at or below the return to carry angle at the time the joystick 21 is moved to the detent position, the controller 100 executes a float function allowing the bucket 36 and the boom 31 to rest on the ground and follow the contours of the earth as the vehicle moves over the earth.
