Abstract: An incoming compressed gas, such as natural gas, is pre-cooled and the gas separated from any included liquid. The pre-cooled and separated gas is expanded using an expander to rapidly reduce pressure and corresponding temperature, as well as remove any components solidified by the temperature drop. An output stream from the expander, combined with other streams, is again gas/liquid separated. The output separated gas stream is sent through another expansion and gas/liquid separation, separating one or more other components, such that a final output gas is achieved. In the case of natural gas, the final output is, for example, methane, which may be fed back to cool the incoming gas prior to end use of the methane.

Abstract: A mask for laser sealing a temperature and environmentally sensitive element, such as an OLED device, surrounded by a frit wall between first and second substrates. The mask is opaque and has a transparent elongate transmission region. The width of the transmission region may be substantially equal to the width of the frit wall. A strip of opaque mask material extends approximately along a longitudinal center line of the elongate transmission region. The mask is located between a laser and the first or second substrate. The laser emits a generally circular beam having a diameter that is larger than the width of the frit wall and is directed through the transmission region in the mask, such that opaque portions of the mask block portions the laser beam and the transparent transmission region allows a portion of the laser beam to pass through the mask and impinge upon the frit wall to melt the frit wall, thereby joining the first and second substrates and hermetically sealing the element therebetween.

Abstract: Methods for making active laser fibers include the production of an optical fiber with disturbed (or deviated) cylindrical symmetry on the glass surface of the fiber. The methods include a preform containing a central core made of glass. In one embodiment, the preform is circular and surrounded by additional glass rods and an outer glass jacket tube. In a first alternative embodiment, this preform is merged during fiber drawing. In a second alternative embodiment, the preform merged in a process forming a compact glass body with disturbed cylindrical symmetry. This compact preform is drawn into a fiber under conditions maintaining the disturbed cylindrical symmetry.

Abstract: An improved hasp seal lock assembly includes a base member that is attached via a hinge to a cover member. The cover member can be rotated approximately 180° from a fully “closed” position, which is when it overlays a latch and seal, to a fully “open” position. The base member and the cover member each have a plurality of apertures defined in adjacent side walls that allow the horizontal latch arm to extend through the assembly. The base member and the cover member also include a second plurality of cooperating apertures whereby the base member and the cover member may be locked together by use of a padlock. In the preferred embodiment, each cover side wall includes a tab and tab-receiving apertures are defined within the base member. The tabs require that the cover be lifted vertically prior to rotation of the cover member about the base member.

Abstract: A cylindrical lockset comprises a multiple-compartment lock cage subassembly. A retractor is housed within a middle lock cage compartment. Spindle return torsion springs, for biasing corresponding handle-carrying spindles to their default positions, are housed within axially adjacent lock cage compartments. A torque plate transfers torque from the lock cage subassembly to relatively radially distal trim posts. A knob catch assembly seated in each handle-carrying spindle comprises a generally elliptically-shaped wrap around catch spring and a knob catch backup washer to resist axial loads produced by efforts to pull a handle off of the spindle. A key spindle provides a dog travel window defined by a closed, continuous edge of the key spindle, which window is positioned opposite of an axially-extending seam of the key spindle.
