Abstract: The invention proposes a method for reconstructing a self-similar textured region of an image. Said method comprises determining pixels of a part of the self-similar textured region by copying sample pixels from a sample part of the self-similar textured region, the sample pixels being selected using a neighbourhood matching, wherein a size of neighbourhoods used for matching is selected based on an analysis of descriptors computed from coefficients of OCT transform of differently sized blocks of the sample part. The analysis of descriptors computed from coefficients of DCT transform of differently sized blocks of the sample part allows for determining the neighbourhood size close to a feature size of the texture.

Abstract: Examples disclosed herein relate to compressing an image by resizing an image and compressing the resized image based on frequency content. A processor may resize an image to a target size if the pixel area of the image is greater than the sum of the target pixel area plus a resizing tolerance. The processor may compress the image using a first data removal rule for a portion of the image of a first frequency range and using a second data removal rule for a portion of the image of a second frequency range.

Abstract: The present invention controls blur and sharpness according to a depth without performing processes repeatedly for each object determination or for each distance. A filter for a target pixel is determined by comparing multiple thresholds representing an optical characteristic of an image capturing unit and multiple values representing distance to a subject in the target pixel and pixels around the target pixel. Then, the filter is applied to the target pixel.

Abstract: A multi-optical fiber connector module is provided with an unfilled plastic cover that is used to secure the ends of a plurality of optical fibers at precise locations within the connector modules. The cover has deformable features that permanently deform when the cover is secured to a housing of the connector module. The permanent deformations are caused by forces that are exerted on the deformable features by respective unjacketed optical fibers when the cover is secured to the module housing. When the features deform, they partially wrap about the respective unjacketed optical fibers such that the respective fibers are pinned between the respective deformed features and the respective V-shaped grooves of the module housing. This contact between the deformed features, the respective unjacketed optical fibers and the respective V-shaped grooves maintains the respective unjacketed optical fibers in precise locations along respective optical pathways of the connector module.

Related connectorized cables and systems are also disclosed. The hybrid fiber optic cables include both one or more coaxial subassembly and optical fibers to provide both optical and electrical connectivity as part of a connectorized system. Use of one or more coaxial subassembly reduces impedance variations and lowers cost. Each coaxial sub-assembly also includes multiple electrical conductors to increase electrical connectivity capacity (e.g., power and signals) of the hybrid cable, as needed or desired. Further, the hybrid cable may include a channel with optical fiber(s) of the hybrid cable disposed therein, free of attachment to the channel. The channel allows the optical fibers to move relative to the cable jacket and control bend radius to reduce optical attenuation when the hybrid fiber optic cable is bent.
