Abstract: An electro-hydraulic steering system for an articulated machine includes an electrical circuit and a hydraulic circuit. The electrical circuit includes a controller, an electro-hydraulic valve assembly, and a spool position system. The hydraulic circuit includes a pump, at least one cylinder in selective fluid communication with the pump, and the valve assembly. The controller includes a computer-readable storage medium storing a steering system monitoring application which performs several steps. A desired flow of pressurized fluid to each cylinder and a desired spool position for the spool of the electro-hydraulic valve assembly, based upon the desired flow of pressurized fluid, are determined. The desired spool position and an actual spool position are compared to determine a spool-based flow error, which is summed over a period of time to determine a cumulative spool-based flow error. An event warning is issued when the cumulative spool-based flow error exceeds a threshold.

Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided for generating net energy by converting the natural pressure of atmospheric air into kinetic energy, which is then converted to mechanical energy by a turbine, which can then be converted to electric energy through a generator. The method relies on natural physical phenomena such as Entrainment, Inducement and the Venturi Effect to increase the mass and velocity of air flowing through an enclosed chamber without increasing the amount of energy consumed to increase the air flow mass and velocity. A turbine-generator apparatus connected to the chamber is driven by the air flow to generate electric power which is greater than the power consumed to generate the initial air flow. Power is generated through extraction of kinetic energy from natural atmospheric air pressure energy.

Abstract: A rotating wave energy machine includes at least one rotor that revolves in a synchronous manner for utilizing an orbital flow of an undulating body of water that circulates over the rotor. An output power is tapped at a rotor shaft and the power (in the power flow) is converted by at least one lift device of the rotor. A cross-section of the lift device includes at least one curve or angle that is shaped depending on a curve of a total flow. The at least one angle or curve is configured such that the influence of the relative flow on the total flow is taken into account. When the rotating wave energy machine is operational, the relative flow is superposed on the circulating orbital flow that acts on the lift device from outside, and a total flow is produced which is curved about the rotor shaft.
