Abstract: Apparatus and methods for generating a drive signal of a switching signal are disclosed. A first circuit receives an oscillating reference signal, a first compensation signal, a second compensation signal, and a third compensation signal. The first compensation signal is indicative of an error between an output voltage of a power converter and a reference voltage. The second compensation signal is indicative of the error relative to a threshold. The third compensation signal is indicative of an output current of the power converter. The first circuit generates a comparison signal having a waveform including pulses having durations based at least partly on a combination of the periodic reference signal, the first compensation signal, the second compensation signal, and the third compensation signal. A second circuit receives a clock signal and the comparison signal and generates a drive signal for activation and deactivation of a driver transistor.

  • Patent number: 8928306
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for reducing electromagnetic noise pick up in a Liquid Metal Cleanliness Analyzer (LiMCA), used to detect and measure particles in molten metal. An first electrode inserted in the molten metal is electrically insulated from second and third electrodes, also inserted in the molten metal. • Patent number: 8928319
Abstract: In a magnetic resonance (MR) apparatus and an operating method for the apparatus, image distortions are corrected that occur in exposures of diffusion-weighted MR images of an examination subject. A diffusion-weighted image is acquired using a first acquisition process. Another diffusion-weighted reference image is acquired using a second acquisition process that is different than the first acquisition process. The second acquisition process causes significantly smaller eddy current-dependent image distortions than the first acquisition process given the same b-value. Correction parameters to correct the image distortions of the diffusion-weighted image are determined by comparing the diffusion-weighted image with the reference image in order to determine the correction parameters such that the diffusion-weighted image can be converted into the reference image with the aid of the correction parameters.

Abstract: Various embodiments concern a method for forming a trace array by modeling a trace array having a plurality of traces, each trace having a plurality of trace segments corresponding to elements of a filter circuit having alternating high and low impedance elements. The alternating high and low impedance elements can correspond to inductors and capacitors. For each trace segment, a delay constant is measured between a plurality of nodes that are longitudinally arrayed along the trace segment. The delay constant can be a phase delay. The length of each trace segment is set based on the delay constant of the trace segment. The length of each trace segment can be set such that the trace has a linear group delay response across an operational frequency range of the flexure. A trace array is then formed based on the set lengths.

Abstract: A system for analyzing electronic devices includes an input station, a transport apparatus, an electric machine interface station, an electric machine interface, a support structure and first and second thermal components. The input station receives a plurality of electronic devices and the transport apparatus transports each of the electronic devices from the input station to the electric machine interface station. The electric machine interface engages the electronic device when the electronic device is at the electric machine interface station, and is disengageable from the electronic device for the electronic device to be transportable by the transport apparatus away from the electric machine interface station. The first and second thermal components are located on opposing sides of the electronic device when the electronic device is at the electric machine interface station to simultaneously transfer heat to or from the electronic device.

  • Patent number: 8928343
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for transmission/reception of signals between automatic test equipment (ATE) and a device under test (DUT). A probe card has a plurality of associated proximate active probe integrated circuits (APIC) connected to a plurality of probes. Each APIC interfaces with one or more test interface points on the DUT through probes. Each APIC receives and processes signals communicated between the ATE and the DUT. Low information content signals transmitted from the ATE are processed into high information content signals for transmission to the probe immediately adjacent the APIC, and high information content or time critical signals received by the APIC from the DUT are transmitted as low information content signals to the ATE. Because the APIC is immediately adjacent the probe there is minimum loss or distortion of the information in the signal from the DUT.

Abstract: An integrated circuit (“IC”) that includes a configurable routing fabric with controllable storage elements is described. The routing fabric provides a communication pathway that routes signals to and from source and destination components. The routing fabric may provide the ability to selectively store the signals passing through the routing fabric within the storage elements of the routing fabric. In this manner, a source or destination component may continually perform operations (e.g., computational or routing) irrespective of whether a previous signal from or to such a component is stored within the routing fabric. The source and destination components include configurable logic circuits, configurable interconnect circuits, and various other circuits that receive or distribute signals throughout the IC.
