Abstract: In example embodiments, systems and methods for learning and using user preferences for image adjustments are presented. In example embodiments, a new image is received. A correction parameter based on previously stored user adjustments for similar images is determined. A user style that is an adjusted version of the new image is generated by applying the correction parameter. The user style is provided on a user interface. A user adjustment is received. Based on determining that a user sample image is within a predetermined threshold of closeness to the new image, data corresponding to the user sample image is replaced with new adjustment data for the new image in a database of user sample images used to generate the correction parameter. Based on determining that no user sample images are within the predetermined threshold of closeness, new adjustment data is appended to the database used to generate the correction parameter.

The color extractor extracts, from image information that includes multiple sticky notes, pixels of a color used for the sticky notes. The area cutout unit cuts out an area that is a set of pixels extracted by the color extractor. The receiver receives input of a dividing line with respect to an area to be cut out by the area cutout unit. The sticky image cutout unit splits an area cut out by the area extractor along a dividing line received by the receiver, and cuts out an area having a surface area within a predetermined range from among the split area as a sticky image.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a cloud-based video monitoring system comprising a camera and a network video recorder (NVR). During operation, the camera stores in a buffer last predetermined temporal segment of a video. The camera also stores a first video file in a local storage corresponding to an event detected by the camera. This first video file is non-overlapping with a second video file corresponding to the event and this second video file is stored in the NVR. The camera generates a third video file by pre-pending last predetermined temporal segment of a video prior to the event to the first video file and sends the third video file to the NVR.

Abstract: Technology for enhancing video playback is described. In some embodiments, the technology parses recorded event data into a plurality of segments. Data within each segment may then be analyzed in an attempt to identify the occurrence of potentially interesting events. Based on the analysis, a significance value is assigned to or adjusted for each segment. Based on the comparison of the significance value for a segment with one or more significance thresholds, a playback speed is assigned to the segment. A playback index correlating each segment with the assigned playback speed may then he produced and used to control playback speed during video viewing. This may allow relatively uninteresting portions of video to he automatically bypassed at high playback speed, while interesting portions are played at relatively low speed.
