Each combustor may include one or more fuel nozzles axially aligned with a combustion chamber; one or more fuel injectors downstream from the fuel nozzles; and a set of flow openings integrated with the combustor. The fuel injectors provide fluid communication through a liner that circumferentially surrounds each combustion chamber. The flow rate of compressed working fluid diverted through the fuel injectors may be different and/or variable between the combustors to produce different combustion instability frequencies.

Abstract: A system and method for reducing modal coupling of combustion dynamics generally include multiple combustors, and each combustor includes multiple fuel nozzle groups for mixing fuel with a compressed working fluid prior to combustion. A fuel circuit is in fluid communication with each fuel nozzle, and orifice plates in the fuel circuit upstream from the fuel nozzles control the fuel split between the fuel nozzles in each combustor and/or between different combustors to produce a frequency difference between combustors.

Abstract: The invention provides a shield for spaced placement away from and over a fireplace glass plate. During operation of the fireplace, the fireplace glass plate becomes dangerously hot. As the glass plate heats, a pressure gradient is gradually established. Through this mechanism, cooler ambient room air is passively drawn into, through and out of, the spacing between the fireplace glass plate and the shield. The shield remains at a safe temperature to the touch and the ambient temperature of the room is increased. The present invention thus reduces contact burn injuries as well as providing an additional passive heat circulation engine.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a combustion apparatus. The combustion apparatus (10) includes a fuel reservoir (20) storing fuel therein, and a main body (50) connected to the fuel reservoir by a flexible tube (40). The main body receives fuel from the fuel reservoir and combusts the fuel therein. The main body is partitioned into an upper space (52) and a lower space (53) by a partition plate (51). The main body includes a combustor (100) that is provided in the upper space and combusts fuel supplied from the fuel reservoir, a blower (200) that is provided in the lower space to supply air to the combustor, and a heating unit (300) that is removably coupled to the combustor and completely combusts air incompletely combusted in the combustor. The combustion apparatus completely combusts liquefied animal and vegetable oil, thus reducing a tar generation rate.

Abstract: An air conditioning system includes a heat pump unit including a radiator usable with a refrigerant, a gas furnace unit including a heating section arranged to heat passing air, a blower arranged to generate an air flow that passes through the radiator and the heating section, a first temperature sensor provided in a room, and a controller configured to control each action of the heat pump unit, the gas furnace unit, and the blower. The temperature sensor detects an indoor temperature in the room. The controller causes the gas furnace unit to operate as a heat source unit when a difference value obtained by subtracting the indoor temperature from a set temperature is equal to or greater than a first threshold at startup, and causes the heat pump unit to operate as a heat source unit when the difference value is less than the first threshold at startup.
