Abstract: A liquid fuel catcher has a case which defines a plurality of chambers formed as depressions in a passage so that a liquid fuel is accumulated. The case has a communicating portion which communicates the chambers in series at upper portions thereof. The case has openings at each bottom portions of the chambers. The case has a return passage which returns the liquid fuel accumulated in the chambers to a fuel tank. The liquid fuel catcher has a return valve. The return valve closes the return passage, when the liquid fuel level in the fuel tank exceeds a predetermined level. The return valve opens the return passage, when the liquid fuel level in the fuel tank is less than a predetermined level. The fuel returns to the fuel tank from the chambers through the return valve.

Abstract: In a fuel injection valve, it is possible to obtain spray in which the penetrating force of injected fuel is suppressed. The fuel injection valve includes a valve seat that forms a gap with a valve body, the gap allowing fuel to pass therethrough, and multiple injection holes that are located further downstream from the gap. The fuel to which pressure is applied flows out from the injection holes. When the flow velocity of the fuel in the gap formed between the valve body and the valve seat is indicated by meters per second, the flow velocity is set to be greater than a value obtained by multiplying the square root of the pressure applied to the fuel by 28. In this manner, the flow velocity in the gap increases, and flow velocity distribution inside the injection hole is uniformized, thereby suppressing an increase in penetration.

Abstract: A pump moves fluid by means of a piston reciprocating inside a cylinder. Fluid enters the cylinder through an inlet valve that passes through the cylinder head, and has an enlarged surface inside the cylinder, which seals against the cylinder head. This valve is normally held closed by a spring. As the piston advances, fluid is forced out of the cylinder through a passage in the cylinder head and a check valve. A rod is affixed to the piston and passes through the inlet valve. As the piston retracts, the rod slides through the inlet valve, until a stop, affixed to the rod, encounters the stem of the inlet valve. The spring holding the valve closed is overcome and the valve opens as the piston and rod move farther, until the piston is in its fully retracted position. Fluid enters the cylinder until the piston again begins to advance. The stop ceases to push the inlet valve open, and the spring again holds it closed.

The driving shaft is mounted rotatable about its longitudinal axis in the hydraulic machine housing. Neither the driving mechanism, nor the driving shaft nor its bearings splash or move in a sump of the hydraulic fluid. Lubricant can be pumped to bearings of the driving shaft and to the driving mechanism by a lubrication pump arranged on the driving shaft and being driven by driving shaft. The lubrication pump do not splash in a sump of the hydraulic fluid either and comprise a suction port which leads to a hydraulic fluid reservoir.

Abstract: A two stage pump (2?, 4?), where the high pressure stage (4?) is a gear pump (11, 12), comprises a driving of the other stage (2?) by a support shaft (74), mounted in the driven pinion (12), the shaft (74) being driven by the drive shaft (21), by means of a pair of toothed wheels (77, 79) adjacent to the rest of the stage (4?), which can allow different rotation speeds between the two stages (2?, 4?). The support shaft (74) may be supported by stops and hydrodynamic bearings, directly integrated and lubricated in the driven pinion, which make the design lighter and more compact. The shaft (74) and the toothed wheels (77, 79) ingeniously transmit the loads from the stage (2?) to the stage (4?) in such a way as to cancel out the usual hydraulic loads, stemming from pressure, and mechanical, forces stemming from rotational drivings on the driven pinion (12).
