Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to a pattern-based system for building dictionaries of terms related to a seed set of terms. In one embodiment, a text is read. The text comprises a plurality of tokens. A first plurality of patterns is read. The first plurality of tokens is searched using the first plurality of patterns to generate a plurality of candidate terms. Each of the plurality of candidate term comprises one or more of the plurality of tokens. A plurality of seed terms is read. Each of the first plurality of patterns is scored based on the plurality of candidate terms and the plurality of seed terms.

Abstract: A glossary management device includes a read circuit, a storage circuit, an acquisition circuit, an analysis circuit, a term matching circuit, and a registration circuit. The storage circuit has a storage area for a glossary. The acquisition circuit acquires text data of a document if reading of the document is executed by a user. The analysis circuit performs analysis of the text data acquired by the acquisition circuit to identify a language of the document and parts of speech of text segments in the text data and extracts one or more text segments from the document based on the analysis. The term matching circuit performs matching for each of the extracted text segments against a public dictionary. The registration circuit adds to the glossary, each extracted text segment that does not match any entry term in the public dictionary.

Abstract: Systems and methods for searching for a media asset are described. In some aspects, the system includes control circuitry that receives a first search query from a user. The control circuitry identifies media assets related to the first search query from a content database. The control circuitry receives a second search query following the first search query. The control circuitry determines whether a media asset from the media assets is related to the second search query. In response to determining that less than a threshold number of media assets from the media assets are related to the second search query, the control circuitry transmits an instruction requesting the user to repeat the second search query. The control circuitry receives a third search query related to the first search query. The control circuitry determines a media asset from the media assets that is related to the third search query.

Abstract: A system and method supports key management in a distributed computing environment such as a distributed data grid. A binary radix tree is used to intern a plurality of binary keys. The binary radix tree is serialized to a byte buffer and a view of the binary is created. A byte sequence interface to the nodes of the serialized binary radix tree allows use of references which refer to positions in the serialized binary radix tree instead of requiring byte array copes of the interned keys. Use of references into the byte array in place of a byte array copies of interned keys reduces the memory overhead associated with referrers such as reverse indices which make reference to values associated with the plurality of binary keys. The reduction in memory overhead enhances performance and capabilities of a distributed computing environment such as a distributed data grid.

Abstract: A privacy-preserving multi-query parking management system and method. An image of a vehicle with respect to a specific part (e.g., license plate) can be captured when the vehicle enters via an entry point. An image signature can be computed by embedding the image into a descriptor space and the image signature can be stored in a database together with relevant metadata. An image of a vehicle with respect to the specific part can be captured when the vehicle exits via at least one exit point and an image signature can be computed. An entry-exit association with respect to the vehicle can be performed by searching for a most similar image signature in the database. Additionally, given a textual query (e.g., a license plate number), a signature can be computed by embedding the text into the same descriptor space.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to a data enrichment service that extracts, repairs, and enriches datasets, resulting in more precise entity resolution and correlation for purposes of subsequent indexing and clustering. As the data enrichment service can include a visual recommendation engine and language for performing large-scale data preparation, repair, and enrichment of heterogeneous datasets. This enables the user to select and see how the recommended enrichments (e.g., transformations and repairs) will affect the user's data and make adjustments as needed. The data enrichment service can receive feedback from users through a user interface and can filter recommendations based on the user feedback.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes techniques for entity classification and data enrichment of data sets. A data enrichment system is disclosed that can extract, repair, and enrich datasets, resulting in more precise entity resolution and classification for purposes of subsequent indexing and clustering. Disclosed techniques may include performing entity recognition to identify segments of interest that relate to an entity. Related data may be analyzed for classification, which can be used to transform the data for enrichment to its users.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosure for a data enrichment system that enables declarative external data source importation and exportation. A user can specify via a user interface input for identifying different data sources from which to obtain input data. The data enrichment system is configured to import and export various types of sources storing resources such as URL-based resources and HDFS-based resources for high-speed bi-directional metadata and data interchange. Connection metadata (e.g., credentials, access paths, etc.) can be managed by the data enrichment system in a declarative format for managing and visualizing the connection metadata.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable storage media for quantifying a redundancy of data stored in tables of a database. In some implementations, actions include, for each primary key and table pair in a set of primary key and table pairs, determining an aggregate severity sub-score based on one or more values of the primary key in the table, the primary key being included in a set of primary keys and the table being included in a set of tables, determining an aggregate severity score for each primary key in the set of primary keys based on aggregate severity sub-scores associated with the primary key to provide a plurality of aggregate severity scores, each aggregate severity score indicating a relative redundancy of values of the primary key across all tables in the set of tables, and providing a list of aggregate severity scores and corresponding primary keys for display to a user.

Abstract: Data from a database object are processed. Transaction information for a set of data of the database object is stored separate from the set of data in an allocated storage space, where the transaction information indicates visibility of the set of data to other transactions. A map structure is generated indicating storage of the set of data and the allocated storage space of the transaction information. The transaction information is altered in response to a transaction to the set of data to alter visibility of the set of data. Altering the transaction information is accomplished by providing updated transaction information within a new storage space in accordance with the transaction to the set of data and generating a descriptor for the transaction indicating an existing location of the set of data and the new storage space.

Abstract: A method, executed by a computer, for de-duplicating data includes receiving a dataset, pivoting the dataset along a set of columns that have a common domain to provide a pivoted dataset, de-duplicating the pivoted dataset to provide a de-duplicated dataset, and using the de-duplicated dataset. De-duplicating the pivoted dataset may include computing similarity scores for records that have different primary keys and merging records that have a similarity score that exceeds a selected threshold value. The method may include determining the set of columns having a common domain by referencing a business catalog and/or conducting a data classification operation on some or all of the columns of the dataset. The method may also include pivoting the dataset along another set of columns that have a different common domain. A computer system and computer program product corresponding to the method are also disclosed herein.

Abstract: Aspects of information integration and assessment are described. In one embodiment, one or more individuals are identified for information research. The identification may be made with reference to an attendee list, contact list, facial recognition, or user input among other ways. At least one source is identified to survey for information related to the individuals, and the source is surveyed for the information. In various embodiments, the source may comprise one or more social media or enterprise networks, services, or indexed search results, for example. The information is assembled into one or more integrated records, and various reports may be generated using the records. The reports and records may be ranked, displayed, compared, annotated, indexed and stored based on a surrounding context metric, for example. With reference to the reports and records, a user may be able to easily assemble and identify relevant information for reference in various contexts.

Abstract: A system and method support a reference store in a distributed computing environment such as a distributed data grid. The system associates a ticket with the reference store, wherein the reference store contains a plurality of references. Furthermore, the system uses the ticket to expose the reference store to one or more consumers in the distributed computing environment. The reference store type is selected in response to the number of references required to be stored and access overhead. Each reference store can be inflated or deflated according to the number of references it contains. Selection of different reference store types allows for reduced memory overhead while still providing acceptable reference retrieval times. The reduction in memory overhead enhances performance and capabilities of a distributed computing environment such as a distributed data grid.
