The base includes a light input surface, a light-output surface and a light conductor to conduct light from the light input surface to the light output surface. The apparatus includes: a brewing chamber including an inlet for heated water, an outlet for the brewed beverage, and an opening in communication with the opening of the capsule. A light source on the brewing apparatus emits light into the base via the light inlet surface of the capsule. The light conductor conducts the light to the light-output surface. A light detector of the brewing apparatus detects light emitted by light-output surface on the base of the capsule. A method of operating the brewing system and a capsule system are also described.

The tray bottom's internal surface and the disk body's inner surface define a space in which foods are carried. The cushion body made of flexible or soft material has a bottom portion and a peripheral portion extending upward from a rim of the bottom portion. The cushion body wraps an external surface of the tray bottom of the tray member and an outer surface of the disk body in an injection molding process so that the cushion body and the tray member integrally join together. The food tray can be attached and positioned on a supporting object but neither overturned nor broken under effect of an external force.

Abstract: A fire pit grilling apparatus is provided. The grilling apparatus provides an adjustable grill mountable over a fire pit. The apparatus includes a frame having a pair of elongated members interconnected by a crossbar. The crossbar is rotatably coupled to ends of the elongated members such that it can rotate relative thereto. An adjustable harness couples a grill grate to the crossbar and includes a cable affixed to tethers which suspend the grill grate in a level position. A hand crank coupled to the crossbar rotates the crossbar. Rotation of the hand crank in a first direction winds the harness around the crossbar while rotation of the hand crank in a second direction unwinds the harness from the crossbar. Winding and unwinding the harness decreases and increases the height of the grill grate, respectively, relative to a surface such that a desired height over a fire pit may be achieved.

A central portion of the roasting net of the roasting apparatus is disposed with a charcoal collecting cylinder. The charcoal collecting cylinder is hollow and is perforated on the side wall thereof. The lid is disposed on and covers the top roasting apparatus.

The floor sheet has a combination of polymeric synthetic fibers and natural cellulose fibers. A cleaning strip is joined to the outwardly facing surface of the floor sheet. The cleaning pad provides both good absorbency and a coefficient of friction falling within a specified range judged advantageous for cleaning. The absorbency and coefficient of friction work well with an amine oxide cleaning solution.

The device comprises a hard palate pivot support attached to a laryngoscope blade by a plurality of actuating arms, wherein the hard palate pivot support is used to push against the roof of a patient's mouth and consequently open a patient's airway in order to visualize the vocal chords.
