Abstract: The present invention generally relates to waste containers and, more particularly, relates to a safety locking device for waste containers. The locking device contains a base unit and a pivoting unit pivotally mounted to the base unit. The base unit contains a pinion member, having a cam thereon, non-movably attached to the base member. The pivoting unit includes a lock casing defining a cavity which houses a locking mechanism. The locking mechanism contains a locking member which is pivotally movable between a blocking position to prevent relative movement between the pivoting unit and the base unit, and a release position to permit the relative movement between the pivoting unit and the base unit.

Abstract: The present invention generally relates to locking devices for waste containers, particularly residential or commercial waste containers. The present invention also relates to a waste container having a locking device which keeps the container closed when a sudden jerking or jarring, such as ground impact, is applied on the container, but allows the container to be opened during the dumping or tipping process. The locking device contains an impact detecting paddle or rolling member to provide a mechanical impact sensor that can detect whether the container has been unintendedly tipped over in the forward direction or whether it is being tipped over, such as for dumping.

A bin collar surrounds an upper perimeter of the bin, and a lid collar surrounds an outer perimeter of the lid. A picket extends upwardly from inside the bin, through an aperture in the lid, and through an aperture in a lid frame. A carabiner or other locking device is removably insertable through an opening in the upper portion of the picket to lock the lid in a closed position.

Abstract: An inverted carrier lift and method is disclosed. The inverted carrier lift includes a trolley movable along an overhead conveyor and a carrier for supporting a workpiece to undergo an assembly or manufacturing process. The carrier is movable relative to the trolley from a raised position to a lowered position by a motor mounted engaged with a lifting mechanism onboard the trolley. On rotation of the motor, the carrier and supported workpiece is lowered or raised to position the workpiece in the workstation for processing. The workpiece may be disengaged by the carrier for support of the workpiece by one of many different fixtures depending on the processing. Following processing, the workpiece is re-engaged by the carrier, moved to a raised position and the trolley is transferred to a subsequent workstation.

Abstract: A side-by-side reducer (SSR) conveyor has one lateral side of driven rollers operating at a different longitudinal running speed than another lateral side of driven rollers. The one lateral has an input section of driven rollers skewed away from the other lateral side followed by a converging zone of driven rollers skewed toward the other lateral side. The separation prevents frictional contact between side-by-side cartons so that one can be longitudinally moved a different velocity than the other to converge in a tandem arrangement.
