Abstract: A method for combining multiple separate streams of packaged materials into a main stream is provided, in which each of the streams of packaged materials is conveyed on a feed conveyor, is combined with the main stream in the region of a feed opening of the feed conveyor and further transported on a main conveyor in the main stream and in which at least one lateral wall laterally delimits the main stream. In order to combine multiple separate streams of packaged materials into the main stream despite a narrowing of the conveyor width to counteract jamming, packaged materials from the main stream in the region between two feed openings of two feed conveyors are guided towards the lateral wall and then along the lateral wall, as a result of an alignment of the main conveyor relative to the lateral wall. A device for conveying packaged materials is also provided.

Abstract: This invention provides a stacker for use in forming stacks of cut sheets received from an upstream utilization device (e.g. a printer, cutter, etc.) that allows for positive driving of sheets into a stack using a stacking unit that includes a series of grippers that are adapted to grip and release a leading edge of each sheet at the appropriate time. In this manner, each sheet is gripped as it arrives from the upstream operation and is passed downstream into the stack, being released so as to properly decelerate at the stack's backstop. The grippers are mounted on a continuous belt between a pair of opposing drive sprockets. An edge sensor located upstream of the stacking unit triggers motion of the belts. The grippers are actuated by a mechanical cam arrangement to selectively grip and release at predetermined positions as the belt is driven.

The various embodiments of the jack stand apparatus according to the present invention may all be said to comprise a shaft support structure, a shaft construction, a pawl assembly, and a screw mechanism. In the preferred embodiment, the shaft construction is a screw type element and includes external threads. A pawl element is cooperable with the external threads, and the screw shaft construction is telescopically positionable relative to the shaft support structure for engaging an overlying load. The pawl element is engagable with the helical threads for preventing downward movement of the screw shaft construction relative to the shaft support structure for supporting loads thereupon.

Abstract: A tool includes a resilient relatively soft tool body defining a closed top surface and a surrounding side surface extending downwardly therefrom. The tool further includes a bottom surface which defines an upwardly extending generally cylindrical recess therein. The recess includes interior sidewalls which in their preferred form support a plurality of gripping ridges or edges. The recess is sized and shaped to receive a portion of a bottle cap thereby allowing the user to grip the tool and squeeze the tool body to force its recess surfaces against the bottle cap in a gripping engagement and thereafter applying a torque or twist to the tool allowing the bottle cap to be easily removed. In its preferred fabrication, the tool further includes a plurality of radially extending relief slots formed in the recess wall to facilitate better gripping action and to allow the recess wall to stretch and expand thereby accommodating different bottle cap sizes.

Abstract: A method and apparatus of filing beer for craft breweries combines pressurized beer delivery (rather than gravity feed) with variable pressure control of the beer flow into the can. By modulating beer flow and especially beer pressure, it is possible to fill a can's widget (gas reservoir) with gas with a shorter set of fill steps. In addition, the speed of beer filling can be dramatically increased compared to small scale systems normally used by craft brewers. Unlike known large scale pressure systems, the beer bowl may be located beneath the rest of the apparatus and modulated pressure may be used, making for a smaller and more portable unit.

The valve has a bore through which the base fluid flows, and the bore has a perimetral surface that defines a plurality of ports through which the additive fluid is injected to thereby mix with the base fluid. An injector is coupled to the valve and configured to radially inject the additive fluid into the base fluid through the plurality of ports as the base fluid flows through the bore such that the additive fluid mixes into the base fluid to form the mixed beverage.

Abstract: A horse training aid comprises a stem running from the girth to a location under the head. A coupling rope is trained through a lateral coupler wheel at the outer end of the stem. The overall length of the aid from the girth to the mouth bits or bridle prevents excessive lifting of the horses head, but offers insignificant resistance to turning of the head as the coupling rope slides on the wheel. With the training aid the horse is encouraged to maintain the correct head position, and this allows optimum muscle development.
