Abstract: A microelectromechanical system structure and a method for fabricating the same are provided. A method for fabricating a MEMS structure includes the following steps. A first substrate is provided, wherein a transistor, a first dielectric layer and an interconnection structure are formed thereon. A second substrate is provided, wherein a second dielectric layer and a thermal stability layer are formed on the second substrate. The first substrate is bonded to the second substrate, and the second substrate removed. A conductive layer is formed within the second dielectric layer and electrically connected to the interconnection structure. The thermal stability layer is located between the conductive layer and the interconnection structure. A growth temperature of a material of the thermal stability layer is higher than a growth temperature of a material of the conductive layer and a growth temperature of a material of the interconnection structure.

Abstract: In a process for the elimination of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) formed as by-products in the shift section (SS) of an ammonia plant, a carbon dioxide (C02) stream from a vent line, which is arranged downstream from the shift section and the C02 removal section, is recycled to the primary reformer (TR) of the ammonia plant. This way, the oxygenates contained in the carbon dioxide vent will be decomposed in the primary reformer burners, and the total emission of VOCs and HAPs will be considerably reduced.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for the continuous production of compressed oxygen from air using mixed conducting ceramic membranes. The aim of the invention is to provide a way of isolating pure oxygen from the air and compressing said oxygen to pressures above the ambient pressure, without using mechanical or electromechanical compression of air or oxygen. To achieve this aim, according to the invention water in various aggregate states is conducted in a circuit and the configuration of the equipment is designed such that the desired high oxygen pressure is produced in a separate area from the membrane module and the oxygen produced is prevented from mixing with the freshly produced water vapour.

Abstract: Method of producing glass components and preforms for use in the method. The preform includes a primary rod having a constant outside diameter and a square bottom and a sacrificial tip having a first end attached to the bottom of the primary rod, a second end opposite the first end, and a hollow interior region extending from the first end to the second end. The sacrificial tip is circular in cross section and the first end of the sacrificial tip has an outside diameter equal to the outside diameter of the primary rod. When the preform is heated in a furnace, the sacrificial tip melts and collapses into a drawing bulb which either draws the primary rod directly into the glass fiber or results in a tapered (i.e. tipped) preform for subsequent fiber draw. Material waste as well as the drip time is reduced and the cladding-to-core ratio, crucial for waveguide properties, is maintained for the whole preform compared to a square cut preform without the sacrificial tip.
