Desirably, the mounting structure and the support assembly are disposed towards the center portion of the table, but the mounting structure and/or support assembly could be located in any desired portion of the table. Preferably, one end of the support braces is pivotally attached to the support assembly and the other end is pivotally attached to a table leg. Advantageously, the support assembly provides a “planar” support area to a portion of the table top.

Abstract: A structure constructed from plastic may include may include one or more reinforcing portions that are sized and configured to prevent damage to the structure. For example, the structure may be a table top constructed from blow-molded plastic and the table top may include a body with one or more corners. The corners may include an interior portion and an exterior portion, and reinforcement portions may be sized and configured to help prevent damage to the corners of the table top. In addition, one or more depressions may be at least partially disposed within the reinforcement portions, if desired. The reinforcement portions, for example, may include one or more inwardly and/or outwardly extending portions.

  • Patent number: 7475641
Abstract: A folding table is disclosed having a two-stage folding mechanism. The folding table includes a table top divided into a first planar portion and a second planar portion. A pair of side rails is connected to each planar portion. A foldable leg and support brace is connected to each planar portion. A hinge assembly is provided disposed between the first planar portion and the second planar portion. The hinge assembly includes a hinge pin, a first hinge connector and a second hinge connector rotatably disposed on the hinge pin. The first hinge connector has a cam portion. A locking pin is disposed through a slot in the second hinge connector so that when the locking pin is positioned nearest the hinge axis, the cam portion abuts the locking pin, thus locking the table top. When the locking pin is positioned farthest from the hinge axis, the first hinge connector is able to freely rotate about the hinge axis.

  • Patent number: 7475644
Abstract: A table that includes a table top with a first half which is pivotally connected to a second half. The first and second halves of the table top are movable between a first position in which the halves are generally aligned and a second position in which the halves are generally placed adjacent to each other. The first and second halves of the table top are preferably constructed from blow-molded plastic and each of the halves desirably have a generally hollow interior. The first and second halves of the table top may include interlocking portions that are interconnected when the halves are in the aligned position. Desirably, the interlocking portions have generally hollow interiors that are integrally formed with the generally hollow interiors of the halves of the table top during the blow-molding process. The table top may also include one or more overlapping portions that are interconnected when the halves of the table top are in the aligned position.

Abstract: A collapsible infeed/outfeed table is provided with a pair of collapsible wings that are supported by struts slidably attached to the wings and pivotally attached to two pairs of elongated support legs. A pair of vertical stanchions provide a pivot point for the wings and lower ends thereof support a pair of sliding braces also connected to the extensible legs. A central roller is provided between the two wings that telescopes between an extended and a retracted position. Extensible rollers are provided at free ends of the wings such that, when extended, the table may serve as a crosscut saw support stand. With the wings retracted and the central roller raised, the table may serve as an infeed/outfeed roller support for a separate saw, such as a crosscut saw or table saw. Finally, with all of the rollers retracted and the wings extended, the table is a work table.

For example, the table top and the frame may be constructed from different materials with different coefficients of expansion in response to temperature changes.
