Patent number: 9686904Abstract: The present invention is directed to a vibrator for seed delivery system that operates to vibrate seeds within the delivery system to enable the seeds to move through the system and into row meters that place the seeds into the desired location within a trench over which the discharge system is positioned. The vibrator is attached to an induction, box and includes a housing in which an impeller is rotatably mounted. The impeller is driven by incoming air flow used to direct the seeds through the induction box, and includes a number of different sized vanes thereon. The rotation of the vanes creates mechanical vibrations in the induction box and directs a pulsed air flow through the induction box to minimize the bridging of seeds with one another within the induction box.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2014Date of Patent: June 27, 2017Assignee: CNH Industrial America LLCInventors: Joshua Roszman, Grant Macdonald

Patent number: 8672173Abstract: A commodity tank for use with an air seeding implement includes a series of panels arranged to form an enclosure defining a volume configured to hold a supply of commodity. At least one or more of the panels has a warping-reducing bend formed therein. The commodity tank further has a series of tubular members with each tubular member located between adjacent and perpendicular panels to define a respective corner of the enclosure.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 2011Date of Patent: March 18, 2014Assignee: CNH Canada, Ltd.Inventors: Kevin Hall, Darwin Zacharias

Patent number: 8522889Abstract: An agricultural implement system is provided that includes a down force cylinder configured to apply a downward force to a row unit, and a depth control cylinder configured to vary a penetration depth of a ground engaging tool of the row unit. The agricultural implement system also includes a valve assembly in fluid communication with the down force cylinder and the depth control cylinder. The valve assembly is configured to automatically adjust the downward force by varying fluid pressure within the down force cylinder based on fluid pressure within the depth control cylinder.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2010Date of Patent: September 3, 2013Assignee: CNH America LLCInventors: Brian T. Patent number: 4145981Abstract: An automatic seed planter which includes an elongate, upwardly-opening V-shaped trough with front and rear ends defining a longitudinally extending, upwardly opening seed-conducting channel, a seed receiving chamber at the front end of the trough, elongate guide means in the chamber overlying the channel to pass seed from the chamber downwardly and longitudinally rearwardly into the rear end portion of the channel, means to vibrate the trough and cause seed in the chamber to migrate past the guide and into the channel at a predetermined rate, and a seed discharge opening at the rear end of the channel.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 1977Date of Patent: March 27, 1979Assignee: S & T VentureInventor: Miguel A. Patent number: 4058068Abstract: A cultivator or rotary harrow has soil working members rotatable about upwardly extending shafts journalled in a frame portion that extends transverse to the direction of travel. The front of the frame is supported by a coupling attached to a prime mover and the rear of the implement is supported by two ground wheels. One wheel is located at each lateral side of the frame portion at the rear thereof and a bracket is pivoted to the frame with rearwardly extending arms connected to the wheel axle mountings. An extensible connecting member interconnects the axle mountings to the frame above the bracket so that the wheels can be vertically displaced by shortening or lengthening the connecting members. A sowing mechanism, including a feed box, is mounted to the rear of the soil working members with delivery tubes leading to shoes. A flow control mechanism is driven by a transmission from the wheel mountings and the shoes can be raised or lowered by a linkage and control lever.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 1975Date of Patent: November 15, 1977Assignee: C. van der Lely N. Patent number: 4014272Abstract: A cultivator has a row of soil working members or rotors mounted on axis shafts journalled on a frame portion. Each rotor has a single rotatable downwardly extending tine that is offset with respect to its axis shaft of rotation to work a diameter that is less than the spacing between adjacent axis shafts. Thus, unworked strips of soil are left between worked strips after the cultivator has traveled. A mechanism for depositing material is located to the rear of the soil working members and the mechanism includes delivery devices mounted on a common support that is linked to the frame portion by respective parallelogram linkages. The delivery devices can be drills positioned in line with the soil working members to deposit material selectively in the worked strips. Rear wheels can be attached to each linkage at the rear thereof so that each drill follows ground undulations.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 1975Date of Patent: March 29, 1977Inventor: Cornelis van der Lely
