Relaxing Or Reducing Agent Followed By Fixing Or Neutralizing Agent (e.g., "permanent") Patents (Class 132/204)
  • Patent number: 12161742
Abstract: Processes and kits-of-parts reshape keratin fibers by applying a composition onto hair and covering the hair, wherein the composition comprises ammonia and one or more organic alkalizing agents. Additionally, the hair is put under tension using a curler with covering the curler with a moisture barrier, and heating the keratin fibers. As a result, long-lasting curl having cosmetic properties are achievable and an ammonia smell is reduced when directly compared to compositions having no organic alkalizing agent.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the heat treatment apparatus which applies heat energy to chemical applied hair for hair treatment procedures such as perming or dyeing and the hair styling procedures using such apparatus. It involves transferring the heat energy to chemical applied hair by transferring heat to the metal member of heat transfer coefficient of 150 kcal/m2H° C. or more from the electric heater and then, transferring heat to the non-metal member with heat transfer coefficient of 0.20 kcal/m2H° C. or less. The procedure is characterized by the heat transfer by the contact between the non-metal member and chemical applied hair. Also, it provides various hair styling methods where a high temperature heat is applied to the hair, making the main ingredient of the hair, keratin, react to the heat and relax while the hair expands, allowing more active penetration and escaping of the dye.

Abstract: The present invention pertains to a hair treatment composition that contains (a) a specific long-chain acylsulfonate type of anionic surfactant (such as an N-stearoyl-N-methyltaurine salt), (b) a higher alcohol, (c) an anionic polymer, and (d) a reducing agent or an oxidant, in which the combined amount of component (a) and component (b) is 0.5 to 10 weight %, and the molar ratio of component (b) to component (a) is 2 to 10, and provides a hair treatment composition that does not drip off when applied, that is easy to rinse and wash away, that has an excellent feel during and after rinsing, and that does not impair permanent hair treatment effects such as a waving effect, straightening effect, or retexturizing effect.

Abstract: The invention relates to a composition which is oxidatively effective on keratin-containing fibers, in particular human hair, and which, besides at least one oxidizing agent, comprises an active ingredient combination of (a) a selected cationic polymer, (b) at least one mono- or di(C.sub.8- to C.sub.30)-alkylammonium salt and (c) at least one quaternary ammonium compound which carries at least one selected group on the quaternized nitrogen atom, and to a method of reshaping keratin-containing fibers, in which this composition is used, and to the use of this composition for fixing in the course of hair reshaping. The reshaping is improved through these compositions and the fiber receives excellent care and structure retention.

  • Patent number: 7955593
Abstract: A method and composition treatment is used to reduce post permanent odor in permed or waved hair. The malodor in permed hair is reduced by applying a leave-in aqueous treatment of pH 2.5-4.5 containing, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, polyquaternium-7, dimethicone and fragrance containing at least four components with water/octanol partition coefficient Log Kow or log P of 3-4.5. The post permanent odor in hair is reduced by (1) minimizing any reactions of hair with residual chemical compounds in hair after the perming process or after the oxidation step and (2) lessen or suppress any odoriferous compounds by decreasing their vapor pressure and (3) depositing in hair long lasting fragrance components to mask or change the malodor to be more pleasant.
