Abstract: A coupling element has a first interface, which is adapted to mechanically connect the coupling element to an actuator, a second interface, which is adapted to mechanically connect the coupling element to a valve, and a deformable portion, which is shaped in such a manner, that, as a result of a compression along an axial direction of the coupling element, the deformable portion irreversibly bends such that a projection is formed. Thereby, the projection is adapted to permanently engage with an annular groove formed at the actuator, such that the coupling element and the actuator are connected with each other in a non-detachable but rotatable manner.

  • Patent number: 8123193
Abstract: The invention relates to a magnetic valve having a magnetic assembly and a capsule. An armature is disposed in the capsule and a valve insert is inserted in the capsule. A tappet is guided in a displaceable manner within the inner bore of the valve insert and sealingly immerges in a sealing seat. The valve insert is arranged at a distance from the armature via an adjustable air gap. According to the invention, the sealing seat is arranged in a sleeve which itself is disposed inside the capsule. The sleeve has at least one opening through which adjusting elements act upon the valve seat in order to regulate the magnetic flux generated by the magnetic assembly. The air gap between the valve insert and the armature is variable, whereby the adjusting elements either move the valve insert in axial direction towards the armature in order to increase the magnetic flux or move the valve insert away from the armature in order to reduce the magnetic flux.

Abstract: A faucet control system comprises a valve apparatus, sensors or a motion detector to be activated by a user, and a controller that controls the valve apparatus. A first sensor may start fluid flow and a second sensor may alter the proportion of fluids delivered from two fluid sources. The sensors may be activated without being touched and may include infrared and/or photodiode sensing elements. In a sink embodiment, when a user approaches the sink to wash hands, water flow is activated. Optionally, the initial water flow may be cold water, to prevent energy wastage. A second sensor may be placed elsewhere on the sink, such as on the left hand side of the faucet spout. Consequently, when the right hand, for example, is placed below the faucet spout, the water flow is activated with the first sensor.

Abstract: A puck retaining recess in a plunger of a solenoid valve is formed with a puck retaining lip that is fixed or unified with the plunger. The puck is then radially compressed to fit through a central opening of the retainer lip, and once the puck is pushed past the retainer lip, it is allowed to radially expand within the recess where the puck is retained between a bottom of the recess and the retainer lip. This eliminates many problems that previously occurred with separable retainer lips pressed into position to hold a puck after its insertion into a plunger recess.
