  • Patent number: 10182688
Abstract: A fluid exit portion for a splash-reducing urinal cartridge is presented. The exit portion comprises a splash reducer for causing fluid to exit the cartridge in a splash-reduced manner. The splash reducer is generally in the form of a spout with a tapered exit area for accelerating and directing the fluid. The spout may comprise converting fins to urge fluid to collect in a progressively narrower channel. When the cartridge is installed into a housing, the splash reducer ensures that fluid exiting the cartridge transitions into the housing with minimal disturbance, substantially parallel to the housing. The splash reducer is formed of a flexible material or is hinged with respect to the cartridge body to allow for easy insertion into a housing.

  • Publication number: 20130299008
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a fluid or liquid barrier packing system which is adapted to minimize VOC emissions, while also providing live-loading and continuous load monitoring functions. The components of the packing system (including the liquid barrier) are adapted to be installed in a traditional stuffing box of a valve utilizing a top entry method, and without the necessity of having to inject the liquid through any side ports of the valve. The packing system reduces leakage levels as required by low emission leakage specifications by creating a reverse osmosis effect, limiting the diffusivity of a gas through the packing elements of the system. Thus, the packing system of the present invention provides a simplified method to load and monitor a barrier in the stuffing box of the valve to slightly higher pressure than processed fluid pressure.

  • Patent number: 7854238
Abstract: The present invention provides a conduit trap, which can also operate as condensation recovery device when installed in a refrigeration system drainage line. The conduit trap is generally a hollow body defining a fluid path that includes an upper conduit 20, having a waste outlet 30 and optionally a condensation collection outlet 32. A lower conduit 22 extends downwardly from the upper conduit and has a narrowing that creates an inner sealing region for receiving a sealing means, such as float 50. Condensation can be directed from the refrigeration system through the conduit trap for recovery or for disposal without exposing the refrigeration drainage line and occupied space in which the refrigeration unit is located to sewer gasses even in dry weather when a gravity based, fluid-filled trap would fail.

  • Patent number: 6877306
Abstract: A fuel system having an ecology valve controlling liquid flow through a retention passage when pressurized liquid is passed through the valve is presented. The retention passage winds between the valve outlet and a cavity such that no matter which way the valve is oriented gravity alone is unable to drain liquid from the cavity to the outlet. The ecology valve serves to suction fuel from fuel nozzle passages upon engine shutdown. Fuel is temporarily stored in the cavity and the retention passage. The ecology valve also provides a fuel splitting function for providing a port geometry determined split between fuel nozzles in the fuel system.

  • Patent number: 6698225
Abstract: A condensate trap for an air conditioning system includes a chamber having an upstream port coupled to the air conditioning system and a downstream port coupled to the external atmosphere, a sealing device disposed in the chamber. Whether the trap is used with a blow-through or a draw-through system, the spring keeps the sealing device in contact with the upper seat member until the force of the spring is overcome by the weight of condensate accumulating on top of the float plus or minus the pressure exerted by the air conditioning system. When the spring force exerted on the sealing device is overcome, the sealing device moves out of contact with the upper seat member and the condensate drains from the trap.
