    Abstract: The present embodiments provide systems and methods for valve insertion and linestopping. In one embodiment, the system comprises a sealing housing having a lower housing portion and an upper housing portion that are each dimensioned to partially surround an exterior surface of an existing pipe in an airtight state. In one embodiment, an integral valve assembly is disposed at least partially within an integral valve housing section of the upper housing portion. The integral valve assembly comprises a valve movable between an open position in which the valve provides an open pathway through an opening in the upper housing portion, and a closed position in which the valve provides a seal adjacent to the opening. The upper housing portion may be adapted to selectively receive each of an adapter plate for a cutting machine, a valve bonnet, and a blind flange.

    Abstract: A removable automatic insertion device with segmented drainage shaft may be used to remove unwanted liquids from pipelines, tanks and other pressurized vessels. The insertion device inserts and withdraws the drainage shaft, one segment at a time into the pipeline or other pressurized vessel. A termination assembly is connected to the subsurface end of the drainage shaft and includes a normally closed drainage valve assembly. After insertion of the drainage shaft, the automatic insertion device is removed and a surface mounted discharge assembly is connected to the drainage shaft. To open the drainage valve assembly and commence drainage of unwanted liquids, pressurized fluid is injected through the discharge assembly, and a segmented hollow actuation tube to open the subsurface drainage valve assembly. Unwanted fluids then pass through the open drainage valve assembly, the drainage shaft to the surface mounted discharge assembly.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a diversion which can be used under load conditions in a fluid distribution system without interrupting the fluid supply or installing a by pass. The diversions consists of a body that is formed by two complementary components including an upper component comprising openings which are oriented transversely to the direction of the pipe to be cut off, which are equipped with seals and which are designed such as to enable the insertion and passage of a cutting blade that is associated with an external guillotine. The aforementioned upper component comprises an inner collar or flange which can be coupled and secured to the pipe segment to be cut off, said collar or flange being joined to a threaded longitudinal element which extends externally and which is used to remove the cut-off pipe segment. The invention also includes elements for sealing the openings once the cutting operations have been performed and the guillotine has been removed.

    Abstract: The present invention is a plug system having a plug for insertion into a pipeline, wherein the plug system is insertable via a fitting attached to the pipeline. A pre-drilled aperture of the pipeline positioned normal to the cylindrically-shaped pipeline may interfere with a pig traveling through the pipeline. In one embodiment, the plug includes two coaxial cylindrical portions. A first cylindrical portion has a diameter greater than the aperture diameter, while the second cylindrical portion has a diameter less than the aperture diameter. Additionally the plug defines a hole that is oriented perpendicular to an axis of the cylindrical portions, wherein the diameter of the hole is approximately the size of inside diameter of the pipe. The plug has a retaining member to stabilize the plug system. When the plug is installed in the pipe it permit a pig to flow freely, thereby eliminating pigging hazards.
